On my Macbook Pro 2018, I am seeing about 910MB/s write and 920MB/s read. Very nice one!

Not as big as mechanical drives are, but is a good way to keep a smallish number of files that you want to take with you. Works exactly the same as a mechanical drive, but fast and has an removable adapter so it can be used with USB-A connectors as well as USB-C.

I use this with 4K video editing. I bought it for a recent project, where I found my bottleneck on playback (Premiere Pro) was my external hd. There are a lot of factors involved, computer (intel iMac), program, external ssd, video codecs (mov 422 10 bit 150mbps footage). This has helped me avoid proxies in Premiere Pro 2023, but I still get stutters. I still think this has kept me from going crazy with slow external hard drives.

I have been migrating my photos off HDD to SDD and needed another lots more space and have bought 2 of these and they are working very well, fast and so far relatable.

Purchased this 2 weeks ago. I reformatted it to APFS to use with my M1 MacBook Pro. It regularly just ejects from the notebook with a disk not ejected properly warning. Same occurs when connected to my iMac. Also after ejecting if I reconnect drive is really sluggish unless I reboot the computer

Nice quality-built fast SSD. I didn’t measure the read/write speed but there is a significant speed improvement when used for photo and video editing. I am using 2TB SSD to store and edit a large video files, normally painfully slow process but with the SSD it is now palatable. The SSD case do run warm/hot temperature so I am not sure if this will cause a future reliability problem. Otherwise it is an excellent SSD.

Started having difficulties getting this to work – soon after it was no longer be recognized by my PC. Bought this for international travel – so it did not see much use and was treated very carefully. Great when it worked, but overall very disappointing. Sandisk replaced at their cost. I’ll give them 2 stars for effort and one for a product that is good when functional.

If you need an affordable yet speedy external SSD drive then you simply cant go wrong with this one. I opted for the 1TB version which might be overkill for most people but it will ensure I have a ton of space for the future. Mostly use it for offloading my DSLR footage to later edit on my super portable iPad Pro setup.

Very nice, compact SSD. I use it to backup my MacBook. I did notice it can get pretty warm on both sides. When it’s lying on its side, the side that’s down doesn’t get any air to keep it cooler. I got a piece of foam and cut a slit in it and the drive fits in quite nicely and lets both sides breathe.

I needed a local backup for my Lightroom catalog and all my photos. This was the answer. It was almost too easy. Open the packaging, plug the SSD into my PC. Copy and paste all the files to the Sandisk drive. Watch the little bar go across the display. Done! Just like that I’ve got my own local backup right on my desk. 5-stars!

This works perfect with my laptop to download and store my pictures while on the road!

This is my second SanDisk SSD and you can’t beat the portability and peace of mind with this durable drive. The faster read and write speeds on the second version make this the perfect storage solution for editing on the go.

Really GOOD backup or transfer option. The Pro version of this is a lot faster IF you are looking to use it as a working drive. LOVE how small this is and transfer speeds are really good as well.

Computer recognizes a drive is connected, the end. Flashes in my computer on windows, can detect it in disk management, doesn’t show at all in mac os, Sandisk software sees it yet it doesn’t work. Never once fell..

Reformatted for Mac, APFS. I’m using this as the working drive for my photo files and folders and do all my editing on this. No issues so far.
