This is my second Sandisk SSD. Used the 1 TB last year to hold travel photos on longer trip. Very happy with it. Now added the 2 TB to hold all necessary pictures and catalogs for snow bird sessions away from primary base. After reformatting to APFS, It’s very fast and easy to carry around. No worries about spinning drives!

This drive fits comfortably in the palm oof my hand, and is thinner than my wallet. Light weight, sturdy, and pretty tough overall. Pricey for 2TB, but you’re paying for size and ease of travel. Great for a camera bag/location work.

These SSD drives are small, portable, fast, and reliable. We’ve used them for storing photographic-identification images for our gray whale research program in Baja California, Mexico. They continue to serve us well! Thanks B&H

If you have a fast USB port, this is a nice fast USB storage device for both reading and writing. Way faster than any USB stick I’ve tried. The device is also smaller than you would think from the pictures and will work well as backup storage when traveling.

This is a terrific portable drive. This is a great drive especially if you are a traveler. I keep it in my money belt when I travel. Even if you are not traveling it is a great back up drive. I use it for storing my pictures which I am currently working on Lightroom. Once finished I transfer them to my regular disk drive for storage. Since the price has dropped, these drives are even a better deal. The drive seems very durable, although I have not put it to the ultimate test, nor do I intend to. From time to time the drive can run a little warm.

I don’t know why I waited all this time to purchase this drive. I can finally have my Lightroom catalog and work images in one drive as I switch between my iMac and MacBook Pro. There is a very slight lag when I edit an image from Lightroom to Photoshop but it is something I can tolerate at the moment. This drive is perfect for someone who has a light to moderate workflow in Lightroom and/or Photoshop or someone who needs their files mobile.

We do a lot of photographic-identification research with gray whales on the Pacific Coast, and these portable SSD drives are perfect for storing our digital images. They are small, portable, and fast! A great product! Thanks B&H

I got this one for Christmas gift. It is okay to use, but why? In order to save anything to this Sandisk, you need to plug in a laptop. When I travel, I always upload all my pictures and video at night back at a hotel. Then why should I use this Sandisk? unless I can upload content from my SD memory to this Sandisk without the need of a laptop, otherwise it does not make sense at all. I deduct 2 stars because of this nonsense.

You have to plug it into a direct port on the MacBook for max speed of about 936 Mps read/write. If I connect to a USB C port via a docking station the speed is half that. I use it for my working drive, photo and video projects. I am using the supplied USC C cable.

I have anew MacBook Pro with ports that allow 5000MBs speed and this 4tb ‘2000MBs’ drive can’t even muster 950MBs. Hoping its a defect or something, but bought a few months ago and almost impossible to test with ports that didn’t bottle neck it at the time of purchase

SanDisk 2TB Extreme portable SSD Drive. This is the 2nd one I have purchased from B&H. This drive is amazingly fast and dies not get hot at all. I purposely chose this drive instead of the Extreme Pro for 2 reasons, 1. I do not need any faster speed than this to move the types of files I use it for. 2. I read a few reports that mentioned the faster Extreme Pro dies heat up when using it for larges file transfers. Personally I’m extremely satisfied with all SanDisk products and use tons of SD cards in my Nikon cameras
