I needed a fast external drive to store videos captured from different sources. This SSD holds everything and transfers/saves files super fast. It connects to the iPad Pro (newest version) with one cable. No connectors or additional power sources needed.

And quite compact for a 2TB. Easy partitioning in Disk Utility to APFS. Highly recommended!

As a very serious portrait photographer, I use ten of these SanDisk 2TB SSD drives to store separately two complete sets of my hundreds of thousands of photographs taken with my Nikon D850. Each of my five categories of my original RAW image files are stored on two of these SSDs. I trust nothing else with my images.
Oda Schuster (verified owner) –
This drive is small, super fast, and reliable.
Avery Wisozk (verified owner) –
Works perfectly, so far. Easy to set up and use. NO MOVING PARTS. Comes complete and instructions actually make sense. It is my backup. Replaces failed Seagate unit.
Johan Huel (verified owner) –
Bought it a year ago and used it twice on travels as back up drive. Brought it out to use it a third time on a road trip and found IT’S DEAD.
Lawson Turcotte (verified owner) –
My only regret is not splurging on the larger hard drive size.
Karianne Huels (verified owner) –
I own a bunch of the 1/2TB drives and I’m glad to finally have a larger one. They’re reliable and fast. The price seems reasonable for what they are.
Hailee Anderson (verified owner) –
Works really fast
Shayne Stokes (verified owner) –
This drive was way faster than expected! It’s quiet and surprisingly cool compared to similar models. Highly recommend.
Lyda Stoltenberg (verified owner) –
The SanDisk 1TB memory storage is useful, convenient, fairly priced and just the right size.

Extremely reliable.

I use this ultrafast drive to play back samplebased music apps. Small portable and connects through Thunderbolt to my Mac-mini.
Jamaal Mayer (verified owner) –
These are great SSD drives. Don’t have to wait as long to transfer large files.
Tyler Moen (verified owner) –
These things are fast, rugged and reliable. No issues at all. I have a pair of these and a pair of the 2tb all good.

This thing is great but if your computer’s USB-C ports are not USB 3.2 gen 2×2, you’ll only get half the advertised speed and you’d just be better off buying the 10 gigabit version. If your computer has any flavor of Thunderbolt, that won’t be enough, the USB 3.x gen 2×2 is not guaranteed to be included. The same goes for USB 4; There’s no requirement for including the 20 gigabit speed.

I give 5 Stars for a product, and 3 stars for USB confusion … I tested this with iMac 27 2017 – previous version of this drive which I also own – 2TB SSD 1050MB/s____Speed I get: Write Speed – 916MB/s —– Read Speed – 941 MB/s … 2TB SSD V2 2000MB/s Speed I get: Write Speed – 936MB/s —– Read Speed 944 MB/s I really like this drive. Thats why I bought my second drive V2 version, but keep in mind that you need USB 3.2 GEN. 2×2 in your Machine ( hopefully there is more laptops with this type of USB in 2021 ) 3 Stars for USB confusion from B&H and many others sources and 5 stars for Sandisk SSD _ is just very nice drive B&H customer told me: 1) this SSD will work with Macbook M1 at its full speed and Those ports work at full speed with USB Type C Gen 2 devices (10Gbps) and at full speed (40Gbps) for Thunderbolt 3 devices 2) If the device is USB 4 then it works at up to 20Gbps. The SanDisk Extreme Pro can read and write at up to 2000MB/s which is possible with these ports Sandisk Customer Service: Please be informed that you need a 3.2 gen2x2 port on a computer to get speed upto 2000MB/s on a type C port the speed would be around 1050MB/s

Though I don’t max out on the speed, I know with the newer laptops I can maximize the speed using this.

This drive surprised me for sure, I am actually able to record BlackMagic RAW in 12k on this, and 8k120FPS. Even bigger surprise is that it does not heat up nearly as bad as the T5 series does, even with these much higher top speeds. I built an external NVME 980PRO to external USBC case, and the speeds are on par with each other. Don’t hesitate, it works perfectly !!! Quick tip, TEST your cables with a speedtest – I tried out a few different high speed USBC cables, and found a couple that gave me an additional 5-8 percent higher read/write speeds. Don’t really need it, but if your trying to squeeze all the speed you can, worth a check.
