Good size, plenty of storage for my purposes and nicely built.

I’m using this drive to off-load all the movies and video from my MacBook Pro M1 Max 2021. The combo of this new computer with this 2TB SSD drive is amazing. I moved about 100 movies at a total of 250 meg and it was done faster than I could click to drag the next movie across. Fastest transfers I’ve ever seen. I also have a Sandisk 1TB non-pro and this new one is night and day faster. Silent, super fast, and an extremely good value. Just buy it.

Pulls a little under 1TB from my DJI Mavic 3 in a little over 15 minutes. Burning fast.

Bought this years ago and just reminded why I haven’t used it since. The Vault! I hate it, don’t need, and didn’t know it was a part of it when I researched and bought it. Can the device be used without going into the vault? I don’t know, because the manufacture couldn’t provide that detail in instructions. All mentions is setting up the “Vault”. Also can’t see thumbnails for pics. This is deal breaker All I want is for the device to act like other easier to use backup drives I’ve owned.

Great product, pretty much perfect as far as external hard drives go

This is my second SanDisk pro portable SSD. I like the design and the fact i can attach to my case if needed with a ring clamp to avoid loosing it. No complaints and always have had good outcomes with SanDisk products

First drive of this type, and I was not expecting it to be that small. Very fast, very portable, will be getting more.

Really handy to have 4tb in such a small case with good speed. Excellent working with Blackmagic 4k. And for post production and coloring.

Well, it does what it’s supposed to do and it’s a lot smaller than I expected it to be. Also does seem rugged. The true test with the hard drive is in whether it manages to keep my data safe though and for that only time will tell.

I ran a Blackmagic Disk Speed Test and only got 800 M , maybe the M1 mac and Blackmagic Disk speed test are wrong ?

This is my 4th SanDisk SSD and they are extremely well built and durable! The only issue is that it only gets 1000 MB/S on current Macbook Pros (I have a M1 Max 14 in) – this is related to the port on the MacBook. Windows Users can get the 2000 MB/S if they have a USB 3.2 2×2 Port. I was able to build a portable SSD with a NVME card that can get 2200-2500 MB/S on the Macbook Pro (a 2TB drive cost me about $300 to build); note – you MUST use a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 labeled USB-C cable to achieve these speeds! For the current sale price of $450 price for the 4TB drive here, it’s still an amazing deal and does 95% of the work I do with my MBP including video work with huge portable storage. I don’t regret the purchase, but wish SanDisk would directly call out the limitation for MBP (I had to find out after I purchases it and then did a bit of research to figure out the limitation).

Not much faster, but faster than the first generation. The disadvantage is that it is larger than the first generation.

This is a great little drive. I use this drive almost every day for editing projects directly from it with minimal lag. The high speed makes editing in prmiere pro a breeze.

I bought the SanDisk 1TB Extreme Pro to use as a back up drive with Time Machine. Unfortunately, after considerable time spent with Apple support and WD, I was never able to get this drive to work with Time Machine. I then decided to use the SanDisk as a clone drive. I could not get it to work as a clone drive with macOS using Apple Disk Utility. I then tried to use it as a clone drive using Super Duper!, which also did not work. I then tried ChronoSync … also ends in an error. The physical size, amount of storage and speed of the SanDisk is great; but is of zero value for me as after weeks and weeks of trying I can’t get it to work for what I need.

Very small, light, rigid and quality for high speed and storage value. Solid state is more reliable than HDD, and much more compact and lightweight. Strongly recommended.

It’s a super fast external that works seamlessly with the super fast M1 Pro/Max Macs.
