Not much to say about it, but the build quality is top notch, and it’s blazing fast compared to my USB-A drive. Probably I should have gotten a bigger size, but that’s my own fault. Will definitely buy again.

It really is quite amazing to get 2 TB of super fast storage in a format this small and with dust/water protection and without having to worry about a spinning disk. I’ve only used it a short time, but was able to copy about 1TB of data onto it (from another SSD) at a sustained rate of about 600 MB/s (the other device’s limit). Minor gripes (from the perspective of a power user): 1) No on/off switch. Means you need to physically disconnect/reconnect the drive if you want to unmount it when you have your machine asleep. I understand a physical switch probably makes dust/water protection more difficult, but I worry about the durability of cheap consumer connections repeatedly being connected/reconnected. (I’ve had drive connectors break several times over my career, but never an on off/switch…). 2) Cable length: 12 inches. Fine for many uses, but if you’ve got a tower (or even an iMac), the short cable makes connecting/disconnecting repeatedly (see point 1…) and drive placement more problematic. This isn’t a cheap device; would it have really killed them to also throw in a 3 ft cable?

I bought the SSD V2 to speed my Lightroom Classic workflow and I wish I had done this long ago. I have over 60K images and it would take a minute or longer to fully boot up LR from a spin drive. Now, LR literally is ready to go in about 2 seconds. Very pleased. The compact size and transportability are an added bonus.

After reading Mark Sparrow’s superb Forbes article on how to revive an old computer with the SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD, I ordered the 2TB version from B & H. It was effortless to set up as the new startup and storage disc following widely available YouTube videos on the process, and now my tired old 2015 iMac is blazingly fast in every respect. It was never this fast even right out of the box. Although 1TB seemed enough at the time, I didn’t want to take the chance, and now I’m glad that I ordered the 2TB version because in two short weeks, I blew right past 1TB. Another nice feature is that the B & H SanDisk comes with two cables (USC to USC and USB to USB) rather than a converter. And it’s so small and lightweight. So for $350 I essentially got a new computer instead of having to spend almost ten times that to replace it.

I love this drive. It’s small, light and stays connected to the computer even if i accidentally let go of it while walking around with my laptop. I don’t know how much faster it is then the “slower” SSD drive but it’s fast.

Incredible ! I bought this hard drive to back up my new film that I’m doing titled: Yaruki !!! Thanks for the plug for my film haha The film file is 1.69TB FCP file and this beautifully designed and very tiny hard drive Downloaded it in 45 minutes which is Awesome ! I was using a Lacie Rugged 5TB and it was taking 8-10 hours to download so this SanDisk rips through it in no time. So happy I bought this and I will probably buy another one.

Great SSD

I purchased this for my photography use mainly. Lightroom Classic & Photoshop can access/load things a whole lot quicker than my internal drive. This is a very quick read/write drive. The portabilty of this drive is a huge plus. I’m not noticing any huge heat issues either. Great purchase !!

I use this editing video on a laptop. I can edit 4k and/or multiple streams of 1080p. Small, no power required, fast.

My Acronis backups of 2.5TB data completed within 95 minutes and the backup software reported speed of 2992 Mbps ( full data effective speed as it uses compression). The same backups to other drives (non-SSD) used to take me over 7 hours to back up.

Great drive, fast and reliable.

its good and fast but with macbook its will work only 1000mb/s not 2000mb/s because 2020 M1 mac mini and macbook pro used 3.1 usb not support 3.2

Purchased this for photography and had it installed and running in about 90 seconds. Transfers are super fast on the TB port and the drive works flawlessly.

I bought the 2TB version a year ago and just oogled the 4TB until I finally bought it for myself for the holidays. These are so cool. Super light, super small, and super fast! Great for editing video off of! Great for editing giant raw photos off of! (I have a 2019 Macbook Pro). Also great for carrying around on your travels! These have held up to multiple drops and to being chucked in a backpack with a bunch of other things and sometimes sand and dust and whatnot.
