It does not take much space in the bag, very fast when backing up.

I got this only as a travel drive and with COVID running rampant, I have done very little travel. So this was only used on two trips, but it died halfway through the second trip and won’t mount. I have had to try to recover 700Gigs worth of stills and videos and a lot of the video are no good. For what you pay for this useless thing, you would think it would last longer than 3 weeks total of uploads. Hugely disappointing. I will try to go to SanDisk and get this replaced, but my lost material cannot be recovered or re-shot. Buyer beware.

I bought it right before my traveling. It was very nice and convenient having it and be able to save a backup of my photos without worrying loosing any of my photos.

Wow – this thing is tiny. It is weird. It is kind of like having a mini-truck with the payload of a gigantic industrial dump truck with tires as large as a house. Except that it is also fast. So, a giant dump truck with a twin turbojet engine that does zero to sixty in three seconds.

Out of the box the SSD is formatted with exFAT and will work on almost any computer. However, I reformatted to Apple’s APFS as I will only be using with macOS. The SSD is very compact, actually a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but that is fine as it tucks away in the camera bag easily. Build quality appears top notch. Performance is very fast. I tried it with both supplied cables (Thunderbolt-Thunderbolt and USB-Thunderbolt) and 80 GB transferred to the drive quickly with both cables. The included cables are about a foot in length, which I like as there is less cable to pack in the camera bag. Just plan to keep the SSD right next to the computer when using it.

There have been a lot of reviews on here of people being upset that they are getting around 1000 MB/s read-write speeds and not the 2000 MB/s promised. The reason for this is that no computers have hardware that can utilize the newest USB form USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 which this hard drive uses. If you want to see 2k MB/s you are going to need to buy a Yottamaster C5 for your PC. If you have a mac just stick with thunderbolt 3.

I bought the SanDisk Extreme Pro to use with a new MacBook Pro. It does what it is supposed to do; fast transfers and a very convenient footprint.

This is the fourth SanDisk SSD I’ve purchased in this form factor. All of them continue working great. This is my first one that’s 4TB and it operates just like my 2TB versions.

Had the V1 version of this drive for a year and loved how fast, compact and reliable it was. Bought this V2 version and it does not disappoint. I highly recommend this SSD.

Small and compact, easily fits in your pocket. Works very well, fast, silent. Stays cool while working. I highly recommend this product.

I wanted to reduce the number of files on my Mac and moved all my pictures and edits to the external hard drive. Even though the disk comes formatted for Mac or PC I would make sure you reformat the disk before use. The speed is great and have had no issues.

Use for traveling to back up my 4 XQD cards.

I have a couple of these drives they are very fast drives that works well to move large amounts of data between my cameras, Studio Mac and iPad. Very durable. I also use as a portable backup drive for photo library.

Love this thing and works great with my 14″ M1 MacBook Pro. It gets pretty hot sometimes.

I don’t think that I can find a better price elsewhere. Thank you.

This is my 3rd SanDisk SSD. So far my experience with this drive and the Extreme Portable has been great. The drives are small, easy to stash, fast and reliable. The hole on the edge of the drive is useful to lash it to gear. That’s a nice advantage over the Samsung. However, the measure of a drive is how it holds up over time. Perhaps I can come back with a 5 star rating in the future.

Fast.

Fast and convenient. However I cannot get above 1000Mbps on my Mac mini m1. Not sure if it’s the cable or it’s something else…
