Small in size but fast for a USB SSD backup drive. Did not get hot during a complete hard drive backup. Made a first time 500 GB bootable backup using an iMac in just under 9 minutes.

I use this as temporary storage of photos as a part of my workflow. Photos get saved to this SSD while I am traveling on landscape photoshoots, uploaded to my NAS when I return, then re-formatted for the next shoot. I purchased the aluminum case version for its ruggedness. It is compact enough that it easily fits in my camera bag.

This thing have me the speed boost I needed for editing photos and video. I’ve only had it a few weeks, so let’s hope it keeps kicking for the long haul.

Terrific drive EXCEPT that running MacOS 10.14.6 and using SuperDuper as my backup program, while the MacOS recognized the drive and I was able to copy files to it, SuperDuper did not recognize it. I’m not sure whether this was a formatting issue or not, but instead of using it as a backup drive, I decided to use it as a primary external drive.

And quite compact for a 4TB. Easy partitioning in Disk Utility to APFS. Highly recommended!

I got this as a replacement for the flash drive I’ve been using to copy work (prodigious sources, executables, object files, etc.) between work and home. I should have got one of these long ago. It’s blisteringly fast and, unlike the flash drive, it does not have a noticeable write hole where the copy stops a lot(!) for 10 or more seconds to let the write cache flush. This just writes and writes and keeps on going. Bottom line: if you’re copying a moderate or large number of files on a regular basis, this works much MUCH better than any flash drive.

This drive solved our problem of not having enough disk space for the Lightroom catalog and all photos on the computer. This allows us to move the drive between laptop and desktop, keeping all the files together.

I use this crazy fast drive for all my photos and Lightroom Catalog. Really handy when on the go, but also when just managing photos from home.

I bought this for dive traveling, which has been nil since there is a pandemic. But I can really see how handy this will be in the future. It is really small and thin. I could carry it is a shirt pocket. I have tried some video transfers with it and it is fast and efficient, great for transferring image and video files at day’s end. So far, the experience has been excellent. It seems to warm up quickly but it is not overly hot. I also like the rubber base and the ability to hang it from something is handy in tight quarters, like those found on a ship. So ar, great product.

I have tried multiple ports to test write/ read speed, USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type -C port, USB Gen 2 port, and even a USB 2.0 port. No matter what port write/ read speeds are just under 1000 MB/s. I would suggest buying the Sandisk Extreme instead of the Extreme pro, save the money. I also tested a Samsung SSD T5 for point of reference also a great reliable drive. Current build components that would play a role in the speed: 1. AMD Ryzen 9 3950X Matisse 3.5GHz 16-Core AM4 Boxed Processor 2. MSI X570 MEG Unify AMD AM4 ATX Motherboard 3. Crucial Ballistix Gaming 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 Dual Channel Desktop Memory 4. Samsung 2TB 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD
