I’m using this SSD to storing and culling photos while traveling, as well as some light editing in Lightroom if/when I have time. So far it’s working well. It’s small, appears to be well built, quite fast for the tasks that I’m performing, and it doesn’t seem to draw an excessive amount of power in terms of how long my MacBook Pro battery lasts while this drive is in use. I did take away one star just because of how hot the drive gets when in use. It’s not going to burn anyone, but wow – it gets really hot. While riding shotgun on a road trip and trying to review and cull photos I had to get creative about where to put the drive because I definitely didn’t want it sitting on my lap. I ultimately settled on letting it dangle by the USB-C cord between the passenger seat and the door, and that seemed to work.

Bhphotovideo has the worst service 🙁 Before buying this SSD I asked a BH seller if it was compatible with the Pocket 6K and they told me that Yes it was compatible. Now it turns out that this SSD is useless. Not even 4K in ProRes allows recording.

The SanDIsk 1TB Extreme Pro fits all my needs. It’s very fast and it’s easy to adapt to any computer, the 1 TB capacity it’s really useful, whenever you have to edit or work in any project that requires some extra memory capacity.

It did not work. It gets too hot and stops working. I want a refund

I use these SanDisk portable SSD’s for saving the photos I take while traveling. This 4TB is hold more large files than I normally take on long trips, unless I am shooting with a 40-500 mega pixel camera. I am sure it also hold large video files as well. SanDisk is well known for highly reliable drives, memory cards and everything they produce. This drive comes with two cables, USB-C and USB-c to USB-3, they pretty much hook up to every port and style port you can use these days.

I have been using hard disks for back up but I was frustrated with them due to their slow speed, so I purchased SSD and I am so glad I did. It is so small and light I can put in my pocket and carry around and still have 2TB. It is expensive but I am thinking to buy 2nd one already. Highly recommend.

One of two failed in one month. Had chats with western digital and they said it failed also. Cost me at least 8 hours of headaches.

Rugged and fast, with lots of storage. I keep my Lightroom catalog on it to move back and forth between my desktop and laptop computers.

This SSD is super fast and works well with large video files. It’s also great for traveling as well.

Use to storage my music files, will buy another one when it gets full.

I have both Extreme SSD’s and now an Extreme Pro SSD. Test results using Blackmagic Disk Speed Test show no significant difference in read/write speeds between the Pro and the non-Pro. Tested on MacBook Pro, 10Gbps cable. Both V2 models. The Pro is still a fine SSD, but I see no reason to pay the extra 40-50% for the Pro.

Although this drive is pretty fast, I really don’t notice much speed difference between my other 3.1 USB flash drives. I thought it would be waaay faster.

Love these drives. Ludicrous fast! Transferred over 1.4 TB in just over 35min. I do a lot of work in After Effects on the go and they always hold up. Hardware: MacBook Pro 16″

I’ve owned several of these drives and bought a couple more with the recent price drop. They are highly reliable and very fast. As a commercial photographer I move a fair amount a data per project and I often have to work between locations, so fast storage you can actively work on without slowing down photoshop (accessing and saving image) is super helpful. I can have 10tb of available hard drive in a very small profile (several 4tb drive take little more than the space of a smart phone.

Love the size, portability, storage and fast access. However I was unable to format the drive on macOS Monterey. Seems to be a known issue. Had to format on my older laptop than has an older OS. Perfect if you have a way to format it!

fits in my palm and gives me almost 1.5 GBPS of transfer speeds using thunderbolt 3 cables. Can’t ask for more. I have a new favorite portable SSD!

It actually delivers the speed it says, but… You have to have a usb port and a cable capable to work at that speed. If you have the proper computer with proper port and cable the speed is astonishing! A task of transferring thousands of photographs from or to a regular hard drive took more than a day. I couldn’t believe it when this drive did the same task in less than 20 minutes. (I am working with an Apple Studio Computer)

Use this beauty on our Blackmagic ATEM Extreme – never missed a frame from any of our (6) cameras! Got to love ISO!

Gets a wee bit warm when pushed but so far so good, I expect that from SanDisk.

Its very fast (faster than my Samsung T5 1 TB SSD according to CrystalDiskMark), and in the few weeks that I’ve had it, its worked fine.
