The SanDisk 1TB Extreme Pro Portable SSD is built with NVMe technology for fast read speeds of up to 1050 MB/s, which fully saturates its USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface. As a portability-focused drive, it’s both lightweight and compact, and built with durability in mind. It has an aluminum body, which helps to dissipate heat, a durable silicon rubber coating for impact resistance, and it’s IP55 rated for water and dust resistance. The Extreme Pro Portable is compatible with Windows and Mac systems without any drivers. Connect it via USB Type-C or USB Type-A with the included adapter. Additionally, users can use the SanDisk Secure Access software to create a password protected folder on the drive for keeping data secure.

Using the supplied SSD sustains 960+MB/s writes, which is the maxes the bandwidth of all the USBC ports. I do not doubt that this SSD is capable of more when connected to more capable equipment.

replaced a much larger 1tb external drive with this one that is the same capacity but weighs about 1/10th and takes up much less space. Highly recommend for expanding laptop storage. I edit large image from this drive and don’t notice any reduction in speed even though I’m using it on a regular usb port (not usb-c) since my computer doesn’t have a usb-c.

SanDisk 4TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD V2 – I can repeat this line just over and over and over again in this review because it simply says it all! It is a beauty and a review in itself and does not need anything else to be added to it. It’s crazy fast in speed, crazy small and compact in size, and crazy protected from pretty much everything (wind, water, earth, fire? :D). What else do you need from a portable SSD of the top notch quality?

It is light and easy to travel with. It’s 2TB which is the biggest I’ve ever bought and will need with cloud storage backup. It was the perfect answer to my storage solutions as I’m in between two Macs one with old ports and one with new USB ports. It comes with both cables so I pulled the trigger and this made my life easier to keep the photos flowing.

It’s fast, it’s quiet, it’s sturdy and you forget that it’s even there. I use mine for audio sample libraries, mostly Native Instruments. On a MacBook Pro with 64GB of RAM and Thunderbolt it’s sooooooo fast.. like really really fast to load multiples of plug-ins, it’s not even funny. No lagtime. So happy with this purchase. Thanks B&H!

Doesn’t work as presented. Uploading is not any faster. Also the video editing is not any faster, better if used just ordinary external drive i.e. WD My Book or WD Elements external drive 6, 8, 10 or 12 TB. Just wasting money!!!!
