What do you say about a hard drive, it writes fast, it’s small, and the materials are high quality. The orange bit is actually machine aluminum.

Fast and convenient. However I cannot get above 1000Mbps on my Mac mini m1. Not sure if it’s the cable or it’s something else…

Used this as backup for all my photos while on trip to Galapagos. Exceptionally fast and secure. Size is perfect and weight is minimal. Able to feel confident that all my shots were safely backed up.

This SSD is super fast for editing! So good.

using high reso photos and videos, this is something I must have to keep the data with speed. So small and light compared with my old same capacity HD. Strongly recommend

I needed a fast external drive to store videos captured from different sources. This SSD holds everything and transfers/saves files super fast. It connects to the iPad Pro (newest version) with one cable. No connectors or additional power sources needed.

It really is quite amazing to get 2 TB of super fast storage in a format this small and with dust/water protection and without having to worry about a spinning disk. I’ve only used it a short time, but was able to copy about 1TB of data onto it (from another SSD) at a sustained rate of about 600 MB/s (the other device’s limit). Minor gripes (from the perspective of a power user): 1) No on/off switch. Means you need to physically disconnect/reconnect the drive if you want to unmount it when you have your machine asleep. I understand a physical switch probably makes dust/water protection more difficult, but I worry about the durability of cheap consumer connections repeatedly being connected/reconnected. (I’ve had drive connectors break several times over my career, but never an on off/switch…). 2) Cable length: 12 inches. Fine for many uses, but if you’ve got a tower (or even an iMac), the short cable makes connecting/disconnecting repeatedly (see point 1…) and drive placement more problematic. This isn’t a cheap device; would it have really killed them to also throw in a 3 ft cable?

Can’t format on Apple laptop

I bought the SSD V2 to speed my Lightroom Classic workflow and I wish I had done this long ago. I have over 60K images and it would take a minute or longer to fully boot up LR from a spin drive. Now, LR literally is ready to go in about 2 seconds. Very pleased. The compact size and transportability are an added bonus.

It actually delivers the speed it says, but… You have to have a usb port and a cable capable to work at that speed. If you have the proper computer with proper port and cable the speed is astonishing! A task of transferring thousands of photographs from or to a regular hard drive took more than a day. I couldn’t believe it when this drive did the same task in less than 20 minutes. (I am working with an Apple Studio Computer)

So fast & Stable. I recommend it.

Portable, durable and reliable. Highly recommend for any photographer on the go

I use this SSD to back up my Macbook Pro M1 Max. It works well. The cheaper, smaller, and older, Extreme model works just as well for my purpose. Had I known that I would just have purchased 2 SSD’s of the Extreme model.

Just got mine and although I haven’t yet had a chance to properly put it to the test (my computer is a bit dated at 3 to 4 years old), it works great so far. Really love the build and form factor!

V2 is twice as fast as the SanDisk Extreme (V1) on both read and write on a Macbook Pro 14 with M1 Max processor. Not quite as fast on an Intel Xeon W-2255 machine with Samsung SSD 980 Pro NVMe, but still fast. I use it as my photo database and Lightroom.

Excellent speed and lightness, using it for video editing.
Lia Abshire (verified owner) –
This drive was way faster than expected! It’s quiet and surprisingly cool compared to similar models. Highly recommend.

I give 5 Stars for a product, and 3 stars for USB confusion … I tested this with iMac 27 2017 – previous version of this drive which I also own – 2TB SSD 1050MB/s____Speed I get: Write Speed – 916MB/s —– Read Speed – 941 MB/s … 2TB SSD V2 2000MB/s Speed I get: Write Speed – 936MB/s —– Read Speed 944 MB/s I really like this drive. Thats why I bought my second drive V2 version, but keep in mind that you need USB 3.2 GEN. 2×2 in your Machine ( hopefully there is more laptops with this type of USB in 2021 ) 3 Stars for USB confusion from B&H and many others sources and 5 stars for Sandisk SSD _ is just very nice drive B&H customer told me: 1) this SSD will work with Macbook M1 at its full speed and Those ports work at full speed with USB Type C Gen 2 devices (10Gbps) and at full speed (40Gbps) for Thunderbolt 3 devices 2) If the device is USB 4 then it works at up to 20Gbps. The SanDisk Extreme Pro can read and write at up to 2000MB/s which is possible with these ports Sandisk Customer Service: Please be informed that you need a 3.2 gen2x2 port on a computer to get speed upto 2000MB/s on a type C port the speed would be around 1050MB/s
