The Extreme Pro SSDs have become my go-to editing hard drives. Markedly faster than the Extreme Portable, the Extreme Pro Portable allows me to edit 4K footage with no lag. Big fan of these drives!

I was interested for my Macbook Pro 2019, which only had 500 GB hard disk, to run my Photos app through a faster outside disk. I attached on the side of the body of my computer and it runs smoothly and fast.

Using the supplied SSD sustains 960+MB/s writes, which is the maxes the bandwidth of all the USBC ports. I do not doubt that this SSD is capable of more when connected to more capable equipment.

I use this editing video on a laptop. I can edit 4k and/or multiple streams of 1080p. Small, no power required, fast.

Transfer speeds are very fast, but the only downfall is that it does tend to get really warm.

Amazing – Red camera Filmmaker- This is a magical device. We set it up to use stored redraw data, for Redcine-Xpro, Scratch 9.0 – Assimilate and FCP 10.5. Amazing ! Immediately the speed, render and ease of working on iMac, Mac Pro was incredibly improved.

Had a older version that I liked a lot but we never have enough speed. Extreme is a rocket. Recommend to all.
Jakob Rau (verified owner) –
Its very fast (faster than my Samsung T5 1 TB SSD according to CrystalDiskMark), and in the few weeks that I’ve had it, its worked fine.

You can’t beat this size and speed for this capacity. I would leave on a cool surface though, and try and give it air, it gets hot as heck when transfering TB size files.

An Amazing external drive, what used to take me hours takes me mere minutes to transfer now. It is an incredible time saver. Worth every penny

I own a bunch of the 1/2TB drives and I’m glad to finally have a larger one. They’re reliable and fast. The price seems reasonable for what they are.

no longer will read in finder or in disc utility

It’s a portable 1tb SSD that seems to be well built. They’re asking me to review it less than a week after I received it so that’s my review. It’s a portable 1tb SSD that seems to be well built. 5 stars on being a portable 1tb SSD that seems to be built well. There… Happy, B&H? Can I have that $1000 gift card now or is that even a real thing? Does anyone actually know someone that won the $1000 gift card. I suspect not. I hope this was helpful for someone looking to buy a portable 1tb SSD that seems to be well built. I promise you will at least feel like it was well built and you’ll notice almost immediately that it’s portable and 1tb. Cheers

Downloading 45 mega pixel images with new MacBook Pro and M1 Max chip is so amazingly fast. Processing images with LRC, photoshop and Topaz plug in is quick and painless. I am so impressed that I now have two. Important: When buying… your computer USB C ports have to be faster than the transfer rate of the Pro SSD to get the results I’m getting. If not, you should buy a slower SSD and save some money.

I have tried multiple ports to test write/ read speed, USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type -C port, USB Gen 2 port, and even a USB 2.0 port. No matter what port write/ read speeds are just under 1000 MB/s. I would suggest buying the Sandisk Extreme instead of the Extreme pro, save the money. I also tested a Samsung SSD T5 for point of reference also a great reliable drive. Current build components that would play a role in the speed: 1. AMD Ryzen 9 3950X Matisse 3.5GHz 16-Core AM4 Boxed Processor 2. MSI X570 MEG Unify AMD AM4 ATX Motherboard 3. Crucial Ballistix Gaming 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 Dual Channel Desktop Memory 4. Samsung 2TB 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD

Incredible ! I bought this hard drive to back up my new film that I’m doing titled: Yaruki !!! Thanks for the plug for my film haha The film file is 1.69TB FCP file and this beautifully designed and very tiny hard drive Downloaded it in 45 minutes which is Awesome ! I was using a Lacie Rugged 5TB and it was taking 8-10 hours to download so this SanDisk rips through it in no time. So happy I bought this and I will probably buy another one.

The picture is deciving because it looks like one of those large mechanical hard drives. I think the connecting cable is heavier than the actual drive. The drive transfer speed is fantastic. The drive does contain software to create an encrypted vault of storage but I use BitLocker

Bought two to back up images after game drives during photo safari in Africa. I backed up hundreds of images from a 45 MP camera, average image size 58MB and many in the mid-60MB, during each back up session, and the write times were extremely fast! I carried one of the two drives with me at all times in a pants pocket; it is smaller and thinner than old smartphones, hardly knew it was in the pocket. Bought it for its read/write speeds and size; I was quite pleased. Will definitely buy again as my back up needs expand.

Half of the time I plug this drive into my MacBook and it work just fine and half the time it won’t shot up so I’m not able to access my work or save new files. Extremely frustrating considering I paid $750 for it!
