Got it for photography editing/storage. It’s delivers fast read write as stated. Other reviews mentioning that it’s slower probably do not have the correct USB specs required USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (USB Type-C), I/O speeds is dependent on the source and destination hardware, not just the drive.

So far I’ve only had a pleasant experience using this thing. I’ve yet to stress test it per say with continuous write/read over a day of production but have been transferring massive amount of files of various sizes (1kb to 4gb per file) and so far I’m happy with the transfer speeds. It feels solid yet extremely light. Rubberized top/bottom make it so you won’t easily drop it out of hand. In hindsight I would have bought a little carrying case for it and the USB cord only to keep them together when I travel and have less chance of losing either one. Its expensive but capable. Setting the standard for any drives I’ll buy in the future.

This external SSD ticks all the boxes. Extremely good performance and a housing capable of some wear and tear. This is a top choice of external SSDs.

I no longer carry a laptop when I travel. Just an iPad and an external SSD drive. I can backup my images, and do quick Lightroom edits, more for fun and out of curiosity than final processing–I do that when I return home. I had been using a Samsung T7 drive as my hard drive. Sometimes the iPad didn’t see it; the transfer speed was painfully slow–like 2 hours for a 128 GB SanDisk card. I stopped by B & H while in NYC. The salesperson advised replacing the Samsung drive with the SanDisk one. All problems solved. Much faster transfer rate. The drive is recognized consistently by the iPad. Now the question is whether I can improve my system further by upgrading to the latest iPads with the M2 chip. As an aside, the system would be much better if Apple improved its file manager program.

It’s a small device that can hold huge amounts of data. Nice design and well built. But most important, it’s super fast! Recommend purchase.

Purchased this for photo backups a few weeks ago. It has performed as expected to this point.

Works perfectly, so far. Easy to set up and use. NO MOVING PARTS. Comes complete and instructions actually make sense. It is my backup. Replaces failed Seagate unit.

One of two failed in one month. Had chats with western digital and they said it failed also. Cost me at least 8 hours of headaches.

Small compact , it does what it is suppose to do . I like it because I can take it on the move and it reads fast . We in a day and age where less is more and this carries a big punch .

Disappointing, but this tops out at around 900MB/s on my macs (both M1 based). The problem is that this drive needs a USB 3.2 2×2 capable host, and the macs don’t support that. Even with a TB4 cable it will only give you 900MB/s. It’s my understanding that this is a hardware limitation, but I’m not 100% certain on that. Still, 900MB/s is pretty dang good…but there is a slightly cheaper (non ‘pro’) version that will give you basically the same speed. May return this and wait for a proper usb 4 version.

This device works superbly. I use it to transfer data between computers as well as to backup critical information. It is small, easy to carry, and has huge storage capacity.

Bhphotovideo has the worst service 🙁 Before buying this SSD I asked a BH seller if it was compatible with the Pocket 6K and they told me that Yes it was compatible. Now it turns out that this SSD is useless. Not even 4K in ProRes allows recording.

Use for traveling to back up my 4 XQD cards.

This is a great little drive. I use this drive almost every day for editing projects directly from it with minimal lag. The high speed makes editing in prmiere pro a breeze.

I’m somewhat in awe that a lightning fast SSD can fit in such a small enclosure. All my daily media management uses this drive, and it makes life relatively effortless.

Purchased the SSD drive to back up my new decked out 16 MacBook Pro. It works perfectly and has reduced back up elapsed time significantly. Only regret is I wish I would have purchased the 2 TB model.

I love these small, sleek portable SSDs. This one is the fastest yet and works great for editing 4k video on my laptop from it. Wish I could get it in a 4TB verion!
