Designed for use as a startup drive, the 4TB 3D SATA III 2.5″ Internal SSD from SanDisk provides faster system boots and helps enable faster gaming and graphics performance compared to a traditional HDD. It has a storage capacity of up to 4TB, is equipped with a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, and fits into your system’s 2.5″ / 7mm drive bay. In terms of speed, this drive offers sequential write speeds of up to 530 MB/s, sequential read speeds of up to 560 MB/s, random writes of up to 84,000 IOPS, and random reads of up to 95,000 IOPS 3D NAND and nCache 2.0 technology.
With solid-state drive technology you benefit from load and access times for your files and programs that are faster than a conventional 7200 rpm hard drive. As SSDs have no moving parts, they are also more durable than traditional hard drives and are better protected against damage from drops and bumps. Having no moving parts also means that SSDs receive less wear and tear, as there are no read or write heads for the drive media to come into contact with. SSDs also help to deliver improved battery life and cooler operating temperatures.
SanDisk’s 4TB 3D SATA III 2.5″ Internal SSD offers their SSD Dashboard, which is available as a free download, and helps users to monitor their drive’s health. Protection is provided by a limited 3-year warranty, or an endurance rating of up to 600 Terabytes Written (TBW), whichever comes first.

Don’t know what happened to SanDisk… I guess Western Digital. I have a house full of SanDisk products… but no more. I got the SSD Drive, and the cable to transfer my drive. It wouldn’t work. It messed up the SSD Drive. Contacted Chat Support — They said, go buy another software and try it. They ignored my complaints that that was unacceptable. The process took days because it was late, and they were going home and would turn the problem over to another department. I require Portable hard drives and pen drives for all my classes. I’ve always recommended SanDisk and WD. NO MORE!!

Product works great…however…the software to create an image of the existing hard drive is from Western Digital. I could not find any link to find the cloning software from SanDisk. I recently installed a WD hard drive in another machine so knowing WD owns SanDisk I used the WD clone software and it worked. Another Gotcha…THE USEFUL UPGRADE SOFTWARE FROM WD WILL ONLY LOAD WITH A WD OR SANDISK DRIVE IN USE ON THE SYSTEM OR IT WILL COST YOU $40. Plugging in a SanDisk thumb drive on an open USB port allowed the free download of the usable software. Once the zip file downloaded, the SanDisk version of the monitoring software for the drive is very nice. For newbees to SSD upgrades I recommend the Samsung EVO series for ease of cloning….much better software. SanDisk drive has been working fine for 2 weeks, no issues.

Replaced the regular boot drive in my desktop. I cloned the drive. Placed the new disk in the desktop, and it booted as if nothing had changed! Nice thing is, it boots much faster, and I don’t hear the drive spin up noise like the original disk used to do.

So far I like it. It seems to be quicker booting up. When I get things rearranged so that my active files are in a partition on the SSD drive I will know more. I am in hopes that I will have better response for the current files with others stored out where I can get at them when I want them. My son installed it for me. There were a few glitches; however, they seemed to be a Microsoft problem rather than a SanDisk problem.

When CrystalDiskInfo tagged my aging HP’s 2TB hard drive as down to 10% service life remaining, it was time to quickly come up with a plan to swap it out for a new one. Did a lot of comparison shopping, and chose this SanDisk 2TB SSD. Along with a 3.5 to 2.5 mounting bracket, and a SATA to USB adapter, it was very easy to use Macrium Reflect to clone my existing drive’s contents to the new SanDisk SSD. Ten minutes to open the case, swap the drives, and my computer was up and running without missing a single beat. Computer boots and loads files much faster now. After several months of flawless performance, I’m picking up a spare, to keep a 2nd cloned disk as a bit of an insurance policy.
