Designed for use as a startup drive, the 500GB 3D SATA III 2.5″ Internal SSD from SanDisk provides faster system boots and helps enable faster gaming and graphics performance compared to a traditional HDD. It has a storage capacity of up to 500GB, is equipped with a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, and fits into your system’s 2.5″ / 7mm drive bay. In terms of speed, this drive offers sequential write speeds of up to 530 MB/s, sequential read speeds of up to 560 MB/s, random writes of up to 84,000 IOPS, and random reads of up to 95,000 IOPS 3D NAND and nCache 2.0 technology.
With solid-state drive technology you benefit from load and access times for your files and programs that are faster than a conventional 7200 rpm hard drive. As SSDs have no moving parts, they are also more durable than traditional hard drives and are better protected against damage from drops and bumps. Having no moving parts also means that SSDs receive less wear and tear, as there are no read or write heads for the drive media to come into contact with. SSDs also help to deliver improved battery life and cooler operating temperatures.
SanDisk’s 500GB 3D SATA III 2.5″ Internal SSD offers their SSD Dashboard, which is available as a free download, and helps users to monitor their drive’s health. Protection is provided by a limited 3-year warranty, or an endurance rating of up to 200 Terabytes Written (TBW), whichever comes first.

I replaced the boot drive in my home built editing rig. This changed my boot time from 2 minutes to 15 seconds. It also lightens the heat load in the bay and uses less power than the HD it replaced. The only catch is mirroring the boot drive so the computer thinks it is the same boot drive. I purchased EaseUS Todo Backup to do this. There are applications out there I just chose this one. It HAS to be able to copy boot drive and some software advertisements do not tell you that until you read the fine print. Once the drive mirror copy is made power down. IMPORTANT! Switch the SATA cable from the old drive to the new SSD and the computer should boot OK without searching for it. Mine did. Read up on it and check out some videos of others experiences. If you just using it for file storage disregard all of this! lol

I recently bought this to replace the aging HDD in my Asus G73JW notebook (almost 9 years old). This drive is just as amazing as you would think it should be. I went from booting WIN10 in roughtly 2-3 minutes to about 30s. Thirty three seconds to be exact, from power on to the WIN10 login screen. One minute after that all of my background apps are loaded.

I am very pleased with this SanDisk SSD. I am shocked at how fast it is. I turn on my computer and all I see is the bios screen and then Windows, absolutely no loading screen. My computer is ready to go within 5 seconds of me turning it on in the morning. Navigating around the internet is fast also, I will click on a link and it loads instantly, Setup was easy, I just plugged the SSD in and installed windows 10 in about 20 minutes from a bootable USB stick. I would definitely recommend this drive and SanDisk is a trusted name in storage.

Go to store, come back & clone the backup drive. Runs perfect. ( I usually swear and buy from B&H. However, this time, my HD crashed dead, unseen by 2 other computers. I ran to the closest store). This 512 runs without hiccup and is 5 years warranty. I recommend it to anybody.
