Designed for use as a startup drive, the 500GB 3D SATA III 2.5″ Internal SSD from SanDisk provides faster system boots and helps enable faster gaming and graphics performance compared to a traditional HDD. It has a storage capacity of up to 500GB, is equipped with a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, and fits into your system’s 2.5″ / 7mm drive bay. In terms of speed, this drive offers sequential write speeds of up to 530 MB/s, sequential read speeds of up to 560 MB/s, random writes of up to 84,000 IOPS, and random reads of up to 95,000 IOPS 3D NAND and nCache 2.0 technology.
With solid-state drive technology you benefit from load and access times for your files and programs that are faster than a conventional 7200 rpm hard drive. As SSDs have no moving parts, they are also more durable than traditional hard drives and are better protected against damage from drops and bumps. Having no moving parts also means that SSDs receive less wear and tear, as there are no read or write heads for the drive media to come into contact with. SSDs also help to deliver improved battery life and cooler operating temperatures.
SanDisk’s 500GB 3D SATA III 2.5″ Internal SSD offers their SSD Dashboard, which is available as a free download, and helps users to monitor their drive’s health. Protection is provided by a limited 3-year warranty, or an endurance rating of up to 200 Terabytes Written (TBW), whichever comes first.

Got this SanDisk SSD to improve performance of my Mac Mini (late 2014) that was dragging from start to finish on every front. Had been advised to replace it with a solid drive and the clerk at B&H recommended this one. Works great, everything is a lot faster and performs as one would expect a computer to function. The tricky thing was to change the drive. But ifixit.com has a step-by-step guide to do it that is very good and clear.

Large cache. Remember to compare competition’s cache.

It took a couple of tries with Western Digitals software to clown my old hard drive to the new one but after completion it was a great success.

I have about 10 of these that I use as scratch drivers for mobile video editing via USB 3.0 cable, and a few for my Atomos monitor and video recorder. I’ve never had one fail and I use them in Atomos Caddy’s for protection on the road.

No lag, delay or errors when using this with a Ninja V external monitor and recorder. Literally no setup and it was ready to go. This can handle the footage from a Nikon Z6, 4k 422 10 bit 30fps.

The Sandisk Ultra SSD’s have been my first choice for solid state drives. Great performance and at a competitive price. I’ve done a lot of upgrades for people and have had zero issues with these.

So far I like it. It seems to be quicker booting up. When I get things rearranged so that my active files are in a partition on the SSD drive I will know more. I am in hopes that I will have better response for the current files with others stored out where I can get at them when I want them. My son installed it for me. There were a few glitches; however, they seemed to be a Microsoft problem rather than a SanDisk problem.

I have this set up as a cache drive in an unraid install, and it’s working great so far. I max my network in write speeds with a couple of these set up, not much else I can ask for.

Works fine hope it won’t fail me. I use it as my main storage for lightroom. I add about 250gb images a year and hope it will last me another 2-3 years or until I will be able to afford a 4tb SSD

My computer used to struggle to open multiple applications. Now everything flies! It’s amazing that switching to SSD could make such a difference. Also the price was perfect! Thanks B&H!
