Designed for use as a startup drive, the 500GB 3D SATA III 2.5″ Internal SSD from SanDisk provides faster system boots and helps enable faster gaming and graphics performance compared to a traditional HDD. It has a storage capacity of up to 500GB, is equipped with a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, and fits into your system’s 2.5″ / 7mm drive bay. In terms of speed, this drive offers sequential write speeds of up to 530 MB/s, sequential read speeds of up to 560 MB/s, random writes of up to 84,000 IOPS, and random reads of up to 95,000 IOPS 3D NAND and nCache 2.0 technology.
With solid-state drive technology you benefit from load and access times for your files and programs that are faster than a conventional 7200 rpm hard drive. As SSDs have no moving parts, they are also more durable than traditional hard drives and are better protected against damage from drops and bumps. Having no moving parts also means that SSDs receive less wear and tear, as there are no read or write heads for the drive media to come into contact with. SSDs also help to deliver improved battery life and cooler operating temperatures.
SanDisk’s 500GB 3D SATA III 2.5″ Internal SSD offers their SSD Dashboard, which is available as a free download, and helps users to monitor their drive’s health. Protection is provided by a limited 3-year warranty, or an endurance rating of up to 200 Terabytes Written (TBW), whichever comes first.

With Marchum Reflect software and a small bracket my desk top was a rocket in no time. I plan to upgrade all my hard disks to SSD

I am happy with the SanDisk 1TB SSD. It is so easy to install, format, and partition that “even a caveman could do it.” I have it paired with a 500MB SSD boot drive. I didn’t need this SSD. I just wanted it. Its attractive price was the offer I could not refuse. The SanDisk Dashboard reports that my motherboard limits the SSD to 3MBS, whereas the drive itself can handle 6MBS. This dampening of speed is the fault of my motherboard buses, not a fault of SanDisk. Even so, my i5 Windows 10 system is spiffy-fast and quiet as a church mouse.

Scandisk makes a great drive for the money.

I have an arcade machine with over 30,000 games on it. It tears up normal hard drives, makes them run super hot and slow. I have had several hard drives go up on me because it is trying to access to much date. This SSD was expensive but worth every penny. The games run 10 times faster and this hard drive never heats up. If you have a MAME arcade machine this is the answer.

purchased the sandisk 4tb for my ASUS G74S Laptop and what a huge difference it does, the laptop is alot faster before boot time was 45 seconds and not its 4 seconds flat. i recommend anyone with older laptops to upgrade!

Easy drop in replacement for old HDD. Installation only took 10 minutes. With High Sierra OS you must format SSD with APFS for use as a boot volume. Low discount price was also a plus. While the MBP was opened, updated ram to 16 GB. 2011 MBP now runs like newer MBPs.

Bought this to replace a 250Gb mechanical hard drive which was about 8 years old. A similar drive had just failed in another computer. Cloned the working drive to this one, and after boot up, the computer looks just as it did! Boots up much faster now. Good price too, because of the smaller capacity.

Since switching to a Sony A7RIII, I go through these like crazy. I think I have 7 now? No issues at all with any of them.

It’s noticeably faster, but I don’t know that it’s leaps and bounds faster like the SSD I purchased to replace my C:. That one blew me away whereas this one is being used primarily to store photos and retrieve them for work in Adobe LR. I repeat, it’s quicker, just not the blink of the eye I was hoping for.

I bought a Star Tech USB31CSAT3CB cable and us it with this SSD on my BMPCC 4K. Plenty fast enough for 4K DCI Pro Res HQ at 60p.

I formatted the drive. Windows 10 recognized it immediately. Worked immediately. Very fast. Easy installation.

I bought this to use as a Media Drive for editing using an external USB 3 dock. Works great for ProRes and DNxHR workflows. I also use the 3D 360 SSDs for Atomos recorders. Fast and reliable.

Fixed my constant corrupted database errors, load times are greatly reduced. Excellent product so far

Fast and well priced. I use this drive as my boot drive, and have a 7200 RPM HDD as secondary. The system really flies with this new drive installed!

Very good disk to “revive” my old laptop.

I use this drive for Agisoft photogrammetry processing. I bought a fast computer, but really undersized the SSD drives. We always have relied on SanDisk for camera cards and this SSD is obviously from the same manufacturer.

The product does not include any cloning software in a package. Therefore, it was hard to find a proper one that worked. After SSD was connected to the SATA 3 cable adapter the system did not see the disk, moreover, SanDisk SSD Dashboard software did not see the SSD. Acronis True Image WD Edition Software did not see the SSD as well. SanDisk is owned by Western Digital. Apricon software could find SSD but did not let me clone the disk.EasyUS TODO software is free to use, however, it installed Chromium on my laptop and asked me to allow extensions to Chrome Browser. Overall EasyUS TODO looked like a virus. Thus, I deleted it as soon as installed and did not try to use it. The only software that worked in my case was Macrium Reflect 7.1 free. Also, I watched a youtube video made by GadgetClass channel published on Dec 31, 2014, which walked me through all the steps. Cloning the disk took 4.5 hours in my case. After SSD was installed in the laptop the system boot up in 7 seconds and SanDisk SSD Dashboard software started to recognize SSD. If I would do this process all over again I would buy Samsung EVO 860 that includes a Magician software made by Samsung company and available for download from their website.
