Scotts mechanical lawn mower is a healthy alternative to electric and gas-powered lawn mowers. This old-fashioned lawn mower only requires your energy to function. It does not use gas or oil so it does not emit fumes. This push mower is low maintenance since you only have to be mindful of the sharpness of the blades and nothing else. I bought this two month ago. it works really great.

Not bad. Very light, not hard to push. Blades are very sharp. Easy to install. Was enough for what i need it for. Doesn’t cut long stem of weeds.

It works great. I love to see the grass clippings fly as I mow my tiny lawn. So does my cat. A bag at the end to catch said clippings would make this supreme, but such is life. We pay what we can and get what we get.

The mower was shipped way earlier than expected and exactly what my husband was wanting…perfect!!

This was easy to assemble. It is light enough that I so not have to struggle with it as I’m mowing the grass.

After my power push mower began literally coming apart, I decided to go the motorless route and try an old-school reel mower. I did some due diligence and ended up purchasing this one, partly because Scott has a decent reputation (though they’re not known for their mowers) and it has five blades where most reel mowers have four. I’ve now mowed my lawn twice and it has worked better than I’d hoped. Being only 19 pounds, this is a very light mower and very easy to maneuver. Even though the blades are only 14 inches wide, requiring a few more passes to mow the same lawn my 21″ Murray needed, I found it takes about as much time to mow. Even though you get a pretty good workout (a friend calls it an “aerobic mower”), it’s not something that’ll leave you exhausted. Very easy to store, too, which matters in the very damp climate I live. While I had to leave my power mower outside (where rust contributed to its untimely demise even though I had it covered), this one can fit inside the 5×5 shortage shed built into my home. All in all, I’m satisfied. Two caveats: One is that it has a tendency to NOT cut taller dandelions that pop up in my yard from time to time, even when it mows at different angles for that purpose. Not a bad idea to have a weedeater for such instances. The other caveat is that while I’ve had no difficulty pushing the mower across my yard, it’s a really good idea to mow a little more frequently because taller grass will be tougher to cut without a motorized mower. BTW, you can set the blades at 1/2 inch, one inch and and-and-a-half inches. It’s not a perfect mower by any stretch, but it’s good for what it is, the price is fine and you’ll save on gas starting with your first mowing. Just remember: Don’t let your grass grow too high (unless you’re in really good physical condition).

For the most part it cuts really well, except for maybe crabgrass and some other coarse weeds… you may need to go over those a couple of times, or better yet, just yank them out. From start to finish: reading the (clear) directions and (easy) assembly took approximately 25min. May I suggest wearing garden gloves when putting it together because you could possibly cut your fingers on the very sharp blades when putting on the “e” rings. Overall though, perfect for smaller yards and more fun than a typical mower for exercise.

I’m a 72 year old non-mechanical. Shipment was fast. Assembled within 10 minutes. Used to cut grass over 2 inches, also cuts weeds. Easy to use.

With the Scotts name, I expected better. Mower is too lightweight, flops around while pulling back on it. The blades don’t go all the way to the wheels, like older models. So you have to overlap a lot of your courses. It’s sharp, cuts well, but too small and flimsy for anything but an extremely small yard. I remember using my Grandfathers Scott’s mower, it was a pleasure to use. Not like this one.

Would be a good mower for a very small level yard. I ended up needing a wider mower that could handle slight inclines. Ended up with Fiskers 16″ stay sharp and it cuts much easier and is easier to push.

For the price, you really can’t beat the quality. While it isn’t perfect, it’s great for mowing a small yard. I usually do both directions when mowing, but find there’s still the occasional blade that doesn’t get cut. That being said, it feels like a good piece of equipment when you’re mowing. I wouldn’t use it for a big yard.

I love it! I had a larger one before, and this 14” is easier to maneuver around my small yard and cuts great!

This works for what I need. I have to go over the same spots a couple of times but overall, it does a good job. I should have purchased the 16in with the grass catcher but for the price, I am satisfied.

I get a good 30-45 minute work-out in every time I use it, and the end result of a clean cut without the gas is the reason I love it. I wish I bought the 18″ instead, as size and amount of effort matters. When I use it, it’s easy for the grass to slip through even on the driest of days, which requires you to change the cutting height. My grass is different heights in the back and the front, so I’d have to have a rench handy, and spend 10 minutes making sure everything is adjusted properly and carefully. In closing, this isn’t worth $128.00, maybe $95.00. because it does get the job done. I would have much rather spent the $200.00 on the 18″ because of the easier adjusting height manuever and 4″ more of grass cut.**Buy only if you’re a patient landscaper and want to work-out more.

The mower does exactly what we need it to do for our small back yard, just have to overlap and go over some areas a few times. Assembly was straightforward and easy, although it really helped having another person to help. It doesn’t take up a lot of space for storage either. So far so good!

Cuts great and fun to use. Very happy we bought this.

Easy to assemble. Works alright for our small patch of grass. Definitely misses blades even when you go over the same section
