Great Product.. The plastic cover that covers the battery seems a bit flimsy but will have to be careful

The mower has done a great job for us mowing down some pretty heavy weed growth. Keeping in mind that it was not designed for it, but it doesn’t bog down as much as many gas mowers I have used would. From a power standpoint, I would definitely recommend for standard mowing. The battery life is decent even when mowing high grass. The instruction say that it improves after a few cycles, which we have found to be true. Still, it is a battery mower, so you can’t just mow and refill like you would with gas, but it does a good job. Battery recharge time is a little longer than we expected, so if you can’t do your whole yard in one mow, you might want to start in the morning and then finish in the evening after recharging (if you have a big or difficult yard). The downsides: It is very cheap plastic. I ended up breaking the handle adjust lever when trying to adjust it for its first use. So that lever is now duct taped in place. It is not something that prevents it from being used, but it is frustrating to break it before actually even turning it on. The only other downside we have found is that it can be a little hard to push. That is not a huge deal, but it is a consideration for some.

I’ve waited a year to review this mower. It’s the first battery powered I’ve owned. I bought the Scott because unlike other brands, it had a metal deck as opposed to a plastic one. First the Negatives. The deck is about an inch smaller than similar gas powered mowers so you might make an extra pass or two. The attachment brackets for the front wheel are pretty flimsy and I’m expecting to hit a post and break them off, but so far I’ve protected them so I won’t. The handle that adjust the deck height hangs out to the side beyond the wheels so when you run close to the fence on the right side you can catch the handle. I finally bent the handle and that solved the problem. The positives: The mower is light so you don’t need the power drive function that other mowers offer. The two speeds come in handy when the grass is deep and I haven’t had any problems going through 2-2.5″ grass BUT any higher and you’ll have to lift the deck height because it’s difficult to push it through the grass (Southern Saint Augustine). Bermuda might be different. It mulches well and doesn’t leave any rows of grass. I haven’t used the bag as I would then have to find a place to dispose of the grass. Of course no Oil changes, or gas so that’s a plus. I also bought a Scott Battery powered hedge clipper so I now have two batteries. I can cut about 2000 square feet Twice before I have to charge the battery again.
