These pretty much just work in my NAS so far. Havent had any problems. Time will tell as to how these hold up. Hopefully theyll last the full 5 years.

These 6TB drives are operating great in my new QNAP TS-253D NAS. This is my second set of NAS Quality SeaGate IronWolf Pro drives for a NAS. Other 4TB drives are still operating without issues in a Synology NAS. B&H makes it so easy to source NAS & Network equipment. Great prices, available tech and fast fast deliveries. Always remember to check out B&H before you buy.

Purchased 8 of these and one of them was DOA out of the box. It would not even spin up in a NAS. Seagate did offer to replace the drive but I had to pay to ship a brand new drive to them if I wanted it replaced under warranty. At least B&H paid for the return shipping. I can only hope they work for a few years like they advertise.

Awesome customer service

It was time to upgrade old 2TB drives and these were perfect. No issues since installation. The integrated IronWolf utilities in Synology instantly detected these as applicable drives.

The standard and pro iron wolf drives are solid reliable choice for nas units. There has been some drama about SMR drive being labeled for nas with out clearly being labeled as SMR drive. nas devices typically doesn’t work with Shingled magnetic recording (SMR) drives – I would recomend researching this before purchasing drives for your nas.

These are great drives that work well in RAID systems. These are the only drives I buy because they are backed by a great data loss warranty.
Brannon Kemmer (verified owner) –
Using 4 of these for fast raid in a 16bay NAS, they work perfectly and are built for this purpose. Long warranty, enterprise class, huge space, and good speed all at an amazing price, great buy. Don’t expect SSD speeds as these aren’t meant for fast performance.
Cassandra Abshire (verified owner) –
Purchased 4 of these to use with a Drobo 5D3. Its been 45 days and no issues. Works as advertised and highly recommend.
Leonel Daugherty (verified owner) –
Using these in QNAP NAS and have been rock solid. If you are buying these for the warranty then read the fine print. Especially if you are using these for commercial use.
Maiya Zemlak (verified owner) –
It works very well and added a lot of data to it with no problems. As for the 12 TB, it isn’t even 11 TB. It has 10.9 TB of space on it, I don’t know how they get away with it. But almost 11 TB of space is a lot of space.
Andreane Kshlerin (verified owner) –
I bought this to replace a nearly full 1TB drive. The old drive was a 5200 RPM unit and this new one is 7200 RPM so I expected perhaps a bit more noise. Most of the time the noise is not an issue but when it is being used heavily it can be noisier than what you might expect on a modern desktop HDD. I bought it with reliability in mind, so I can live with the noise. If you have this in an actual NAS which is stuck out of the way somewhere then I doubt if the noise would be an issue. On the plus side, the increase in free space and RPM has pepped up my older PC.

Have had these about a month in an 8 bay RAID. We’ll see how they hold up but so far quiet and smokin’ fast compared with other 7200rpm drives I’ve used in the same housing. Costly, but worth it if they last.

We use these in our QNAP NAS in our editing suite. We are running 3-5 editing machines a day, all accessing the data on these drives at the same time for 5-6 days a week. We ran about 2 years before one of the drives even got a slight health risk. Highlight reccomend

I am very happy with this drive. It arrived quickly and works great in my Synology NAS. Performance is good, and the drive seems to be very quiet.

What all can you really say about them? They’re spinning drives and they’re big! Definitely worth the money over the 5200rpm drives and a good cost saving point compared to SSD for big/long term storage. SSDs would be great, but for the storage I wanted it would be way too expensive. I bought a 4 pack of these for a RAID 5 configuration, which is giving me 15.69TB of storage. Actual capacity of these drives are 5.46TB each if you are wondering. They’re fairly quiet, but you do hear them if you have it near you and they are active. Not the spinning, but more so the head moving. If you put them in a storage device and it’s tucked away, you’ll never know. Great choice for tons of storage!

I’ve had these installed in a new PC build for 4 months – they work perfectly. It’s great to have enough room to not be worried about running out of space.
Mabel Hansen (verified owner) –
The drive popped right into my Synology NAS Box and works perfectly.
Hershel Jast (verified owner) –
Its a disk drive. At this price for a ‘premium’ drive I expect good performance. Time will tell.

I guess the odds finally caught up with me. The drive would not even spin up after being installed in a 6 bay NAS. Seagate would allow me to return the new drive, but I would have to pay to ship it to them. I wish Seagate would have tested the drive before they shipped it out.
