Using several of these drives with the NewerTech Voyager for photo archives. Nice and quiet on my desk.

No complaints about I used for storage

I love B&H best supplier out there.

I can’t really comment on the longevity but it works well in my voyager driver. I created two partitions to back up my children’s Macmini–once as a sparse partition and the other as a disk image using Carbon Copy Cloner and both work well. I’ve only had it for less than a month though, but I’ve never had any issues with Barracuda Seagate drives.

I bought these drives to backup the starup disk on various computers. It worked like a charm.

So far so good and it was simple to install. Even thought the product itself didn’t come with any manuals, spec sheets, etc., it was a snap to install and get up and running. Also, it didn’t come with the Seagate software that was advertised as included, may I need to download that from the manufacturer. In any case, I have had terrible luck with hard drives, and it doesn’t seem to matter who makes them. They keep telling me solid-state is the way to go.

Sure, we’d all like SSD’s, but for a great price you can have tons of capacity. This one is fast and quiet.

I use this HDD for video editing and this drive can capture 1080i uncompressed whithout RAID!!! If you edit in Premiere CS 6 or MC6 dont seek more this is your option!

Good Cache, Good Capacity, Good Read and Write Speeds. Obviously not an SSD, but on a budget / for additional storage it is pretty great.
Marcos Weimann (verified owner) –
I will recommend it to everyone

I bought four of these for my NAS box. Holding up great!

So I’m using this HD for a night owl servalence system to record video from four cameras. The HD was easy to install just plug and play. It’s perfect for my use and I highly recommend this product to others. Going the route of buying the dvr and HD separate saved me about $150! Thanks B&H for having such a great product.

I use 5 2TB Barracuda HDs running at RAID5 in my main Desktop computer. So I have a safe storage and fast access to a total of 7.6 TB which I divided in 6 volumes (for the easy production of backups to smaller external HDs). This is my high capacity storage option, instead of using an external network array. The system and softwares run in an SSD Sata 6Gb Intel drive. The reliability of the Seagate Barracuda is a must in such a high performance system. For such a huge benefit, this product is quite affordable.

Used to transfer large amounts of data – drive is fast and reliable

I bought this drive to use in my Voyager dock to archive projects. It’s fast but I found it to be a little noisy. I don’t use it too often so it’s OK but if you bought this drive to use all the time the noise level might get a little annoying.
Sammie Bergnaum (verified owner) –
So fast you think you had an SSD in your computer. And is as quiet as an SSD too.
Guido Russel (verified owner) –
I use this drive as a Backup / Storage for video files.
