I have used the Seagate line of drives for many years. I have bought about 100 of them over the years for my business computers. Out of those, I have had 2 failures. One was when the drive was in use and one had a problem out of the box. These drives have run 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for years. I have had other brands and have experienced high rates of failures with them. Luck or good reliability, either way I will always buy Seagate dives. The Barracuda line seems to be reasonably priced, and the reliability doesn’t seem to suffer.

I have a lot of experiance upgrading and installing hard drives so there wer not suprises. The only issuse was B&H said Diskwizard came with the drive. In fact the only thing in the box was the drive. No biggee, I downloaded it from Seagate.

Second Internal drive in i5 desktop PC for use as the recording workspace for Protools MP9, cubase Artist 7 and Ableton Live 8, running with cpu non-intensive IK plugins (Synth/Orch/Mastering/Amp), Komplete, etc. Everything running without a hitch out of the box and rather than breaking a fairly new computer’s hard drive and continuously periodically having to either stop and start the project, program or reboot–I’ve been saved! God Bless B&H on the price, shipping and process that they have down pat. I could have gotten it a couple of bucks ($2) cheaper–but from whom? We are building a relationship on they do what they do and do like they say and they also have a pretty cool catalog that for me is more like a reference book! The product? A Seagate 7200 rpm 2 TB SATA?–’nuff said! It’s about workflow…

The Seagate 2TB BarraCuda 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5 internal HDD has shorten my daily Windows 10 Pro 64-bit image backup by more than 20 minutes due to its 256MB cache. R.E.S. Pieternella, CURACAO.

these drives are great. i use them for video editing, hot swapping in a 3 drive bay built into my machine. run quiet, fast, and solid. i formatted in exFat so can move between mac & pc easily. why are drives not sold in exFat?

Bought a 2TB Baraccuda drive. About 9 months later it failed (clicking noise then startup then stop and more clicking noises). Seagate sent me a replacement refurbished drive under warranty. It failed after 1 week. Seagate sent me a replacement new drive under warranty. It didn’t work straight out of the box. I must be the unluckiest person in the universe or Seagate quality has become non-existent.

I only buy to types 3.5 drives Seagate and WD. they just work

Bought as a second drive for my RAID setup at home. Easy to set up as any HD would, just be aware that it doesn’t come with any hardware (i.e. SATA power/data cables and mounting screws aren’t included).

Formatted and was recognized by Windows 10. Worked at described.

I purchase several of these disks, they all arrived with no issues packed well individually in what I would call non-retail packaging. I did allot of research on these before my purchase and I am glad I did there are many other sites out there with the old slower green 2GB disks, but these disks are the newest generation ones from Seagate with two 1 GB platters in them running at 7200RPM. They are exactly what I wanted and will be buying more of them in the future.

Been using Barracuda drives for many years. I would buy again.

I have several of the 2TB Barracuda 3.5 Internal Desktop Hard Drive by Seagate. I used them with as backup repositiries utilizing a NewerTech Voyager SATA drive dock. it is a Multi-Interface Dock that i can use with any size drive. Instead of having one big external backup unit, or several individual external drives – I use the voyager and back up each of the four drives in my macPro. I also use these drives internally when needed.

I use this product as part of my Drobo backup system. As a professional photographer, it is important for me to feel comfortable knowing that my archive is safe, and easily accessible with high quality and fast storage drives. The 2TB Barracuda provides the capacity, speed, and reliability needed for my work, (photographic digital workflow, some video, and extensive archives). I compared this to other similar products, but the Barracuda comes at a better price for similar specs. No problems whatsoever yet! After a while researching and comparing, I believe I made the best decision, and I’m ready to by again as soon as I need it.
