This replacement Baracuda is about one half as thick as the original defective one, nevertheless it fit correctly in the HDD holder and mounted in the unit without issue. It is used in an Iomega RAID unit and its automatic rebuild worked correctly with this drive.

Was easy to install and product software obtained on line allowed me to clone my failing old hard drive easily. Didn’t have to reinstall anything on the new drive. I didn’t give 5 stars because item didn’t include 4 x 6-32 screws to install nor did it include any product info. in the box.

I have used Seagate drives exclusively for the past 15 years. I have only used these specific drives for a few weeks, and they are behaving well. They are used in a home office RAID 1 array for about 8 hours per day. After 6 years in the RAID 1 array, I move the drives to a backup array which is only used a few hours per week. On average, the Seagate drives have lasted over 10 years and I have never lost data.

No joke! I purchased 3 to install in a synology 4-bay nas. 1 failed at month 20 and was replaced under warranty (yay!!). Another failed at month 25 and just outside the warranty period (nay!!). I guess it’s time to try another manufacture.

Use this as a storage drive for my pc. Great hard drive and great price. I read a lot of reviews before making this purchase and am pleased. I almost made a mistake in buying it though because I thought it would come with the required cables, but it did not. Luckily I had some extra cables. It was my mistake though because B&H Photo did list it as a bare hard drive only. I just wish they had maybe spelled it out more that nothing else was included with it. All in all I’m happy with the purchase.

The drive was used to keep a copy of my photos and business data. This became a clone of my data drive. The drive installed easily and the cloning process ran uneventful. All the photos and data was present on the drive without error. All utilities reported the drive to be perfect. For this amount of storage the price point was excellent. Seagate is a known name in hard disks.
