This is the fourth drive in my MacPro. Easy to install and formatting was quick. Would recommend this to all power users for real back-up.

Seagate have always been my favorite drives, as an audio professional I can count on them for long life and reliability.

This is a solid hard drive. I wanted a good 2TB hard drive to use as a backup drive in my Windows 7 home computer. Using hard drives larger than 2TB is painful with Window 7. So, I wanted to get as much storage as I could. B&H had a GREAT price on this drive.

I’m using this drive as a backup. At the time it was the best I could find for the price, and so far it’s done everything I need it to.
Karianne Brown (verified owner) –
This Drive is awesome, very happy with my purchase, used it to upgrade my iMac.

I replaced a crashed HDD with this new drive. I plugged it in, inserted my new Windows 8 OS DVD and powered it up. It worked the first time, is very quick opening picture and video files, and is very quiet. Overall, a good product for a good price.

The reason IO bought this one? I’m hoping its a fluke but my older Barracuda 1TB drive died in less than a couple of years. Cost me nearly $1K to retrieve data.
Alayna Kovacek (verified owner) –
This Hard Drive apparently has some compatibility issues with Mac and ended up giving me only 800GB of storage. B&H staff is helping me solve it. Thanks guys! Sorry abou the misunderstanding. Cheers!

not the best hard drive made but for the price its fairly fast and great for storage

I installed it into my Synology NAS along with two other 3TB Barracudas and they work fine so far. Sufficient read/write speed and plenty of space. I gave it 4 out of 5, because it is too early to judge reliability.

Used two of these in a new RAID 1 build. Seems solid and stable.

You’ll not likely have any problem with these drives unless you have a problem with these drives. I know, insightful. That is to say, Great value, work well, fast enough for just about anything. So, as long as the drive doesn’t fail, it’s a great drive.

Seagates have never dissapointed me. Fast transfer speeds and great as storage drives. These are definitely the newer 2 platter drives, and not the older 3 platter drives that some retailers are carrying. Fast shipping and overkill packaging (Each HDD had 3 of bubble wrap and was placed into its own cardboard box) was definitely a plus. B&H has won me over!

Needed to copy my Boot Drive for a backup in case the original failed. Time Machine does that – as well as Super Duper – for my Mac Pro desktop. Finished copying in reasonable time so now I’m ready for that inevitable day when the original drive gets contaminated or just fails out right ! Seagate drives have been reliable for me for years.

This item is just what we needed.

This is my 2nd 2TB HDD. This one is for a new build for my son. I been using Seagate for about 2 years now and it has not failed me yet! Good alternative if SSD is not within your budget.

Barracuda Seagate Drives have been my main go to drives for all my back up work. I’ve never had one go down on me (knock on wood) so I can highly recommend them.

Great speed.

Purchased this drive for a Time Machine Backup on my MacBook Pro. Installed in the OWC Mercury Elite Pro enclosure. Backups are seamless, works perfect!
