I use it to record and playback audio from Pro Tools 10 on Windows 7. What can I say, Its a really really fast Barracuda 2TB at a price NO ONE WILL BEAT!

Alivia Bailey (verified owner) –
I needed a large and reliable drive for my editing system and this drive has performed great. Ease of set up and drive speed is awesome. Runs very quietly.

2Tb for $, amazing.

Before I bought this, I would drive to the local computer/electrics store. But it’s far more ideal to get my drives from B&H rather pay fuel and time. This drive is very affordable and I’ve had good success with 12 Seagate drives I’ve owned over the past 8 years. The drive is fast, well made and a great value.
Frankie Morissette (verified owner) –
Great capacity So far, I have had no problems with it. I upgraded from a 500gb to this one by cloning the older one. Running smoothly.

I have multiple external drive arrays, each of which hold five drives. I bought four drives to fill out two of my drive arrays. All four drives worked flawlessly and seemlessly out of the box, which were very well packaged. I use Drobo arrays, which I also purchased at B+H. I use one Drobo array for my live or working data and the other array for providing data redundancy (backups).
Brody Quigley (verified owner) –
works great for back-ups.
Hollie Homenick (verified owner) –
We’ve used these drives internally and externally in enclosures and they perform flawlessly every time. They are also quiet, which is a consideration if you are editing video.
Sonia Jenkins (verified owner) –
Super fast with zero issues

I purchased 2 of these drives for a RAID drive and one is already ‘foreign’.
Herta Langworth (verified owner) –
This drive is the secondary drive in a new CPU box, mainly used for data storage. It’s the latest and largest of many used over the years. No Barracuda drive has ever failed in my service; most have been used 5 years or more. The Windows 7 speed index on the new box is 5.9, and it is limited by the hard drives, but 7200 rpm is the limiting factor on read and write speeds in my non-RAID configuration. I have seen no fault in the drive’s performance.

I have replaced my Seagate 80 GB drive with this one and so far it is working without any problems. I do not see any degradation of speed.
Carolanne Cole (verified owner) –
I have look over a few reviews on how good the Seagate Barracuda hard drives are so the why I chose the 2TB Barracuda 3.5 desktop For the space for graphic and photo programs and games Seagate has had the best hard drives in the market for a few years and always get awards for their workmanship and design Great product with good reparation So if you to replace or upgrade with Seagate hard drives

I use this with ZFS on Linux. It’s cheap and I’m using this because I’m on a budget but you probably want an enterprise-class disk if you’re using RAID or ZFS. I’m a bit unhappy that I bought this model at two different times and received two different versions with possibly different numbers of platters. They are all 2000398934016 bytes.

A very good and reliable drive – I have since bought another Barracuda 2 TB – highly recommended!
