Great transfer speed and has worked perfectly so far

Lots of space and haven’t had any issues with them yet. I don’t expect it to last forever, but so far, pretty good.

Great price, great product.
Colin Roob (verified owner) –
Given its size I can now save multiple backups to a single drive.
Valerie Grimes (verified owner) –
Great Price/performance ratio. Also very reliable. I have several and they have all preformed consistently well.

Replaced a 7 year old Seagate 1tb with this 3tb Seagate. The old one was still running and did not die, but the S.M.A.R.T. status was failing, so time to replace. 7 years of daily use streaming sample libraries is very good value IMO. Great drives.

I like it, works for me

I have been using a WD 1TB black for almost 4 years now. It’s almost full so I needed another drive. That’s when I came across this SeaGate 2TB 7200rpm drive that offering the same performance as the WB with twice the capacity and less price. Seemed a bit to good to be true. So I started googling about it for reviews and user feedbacks. It has got mixed reviews, some good some bad. But mostly good. So after 2 weeks I finally pulled the trigger on this. Once I installed it on my system, it didn’t show up in Windows partition manager or in BIOS. I just booted into the Windows 10 installation drive and found it visible in the Windows installation drive selection window. Just formated it from there and restarted my PC and all it going great so far. Also noticed that this drive is a lot slimmer than the WD Black drive I have. S.M.A.R.T shows both the WD and Seagate at the same operating temps 33 degrees. It does make a slight noise when I boot up my PC, after that it’s silent. I keep my PC powered off when I’m not using it. Using this drive as the second backup to my WD drive. Max fine transfer speed was shown as 200MBps. This is my first Seagate drive. Happy so far.

Bought a bunch of these for archival backups of video projects. So far so good. I spin them up every couples of months to keep them moving. Good speeds.

second of the two drives i ordered works perfectly, but squeaks incessantly. i know it’s just an annoyance and no reflection of the functionality, but when editing video with the computer right next to me it’s enough to drive me mad. ran tests to confirm the drives were healthy but my goodness, i’ve never heard such an annoying constant sound.

I needed to replace 2 hard drives (RAID configuration) on 2 different servers. Needed to find an inexpensive set of identical drives but reliable. These come highly recommended and I couldn’t find them cheaper anywhere else.
Emmanuel Kub (verified owner) –
The 7200 rpm really make a difference in the boot time. This drive is pretty quiet the transfer speed is fast I have nothing to complain about.

I’ve used other products, but have never found a more reliable and speedy hard drive than Seagate. I have a 500GB and a 1.5TB and they run just fine. This 2TB is a welcome addition.
Catherine Pacocha (verified owner) –
Backups-been using for years-excellent, reliable. Great price and free shipping.

We’ve used a couple dozen of these HDDs for day-to-day video editing operations, including rendering and archiving. Our first Barracudas were 1TB; now we’re using the 3TB. We’ve never had a failure, never lost any data.
