Using in Linux Server. These drives usually are no-brainers to install and configure. Had one drive that was DOA. BH immediately issued RMA and arranged for a replacement. Coincidentally had several 2TB Seagates that failed at about the same time, however these had been in heavy use for about 3 years.

I have this drive in a Synology DS1512+ disk station and it works well with pictures, video, and video stored and streamed on the nas. there are better drives out there, but for the price it does the job and priced right if you need to expand or replace in a nas system.

I’m usually very satisfied with Seagate hard drives, and there was no exception this time. This review is for the four that I recently got from B&H. I use them in a Synology DiskStation DS413j (aslo from B&H), with no problems so far. They’re quiet, but may be a bit slow in the Raid setup I’m using. I expect after tweaking, this will be resolved. On the other hand, some of the files I open are massive — RAW photo images, which are inherently slow to load in. The DiskStation, by the way, is also a fine piece of work. Incredibly easy setup.
