i use it for recording music & storage seagate has been my choice for years, i pray they havent changed any of the good qualities. they are none for their stability.

I upgraded my internal boot drive since I was running out of space on my Mac Pro. I debated with the 1TB that I have had in the past and this 2TB. The drive is quite and of course being a 7200rpm drive is fast coupled with a big cache. It is more than enough for the OS, video applications, emails, other business related applications and the never ending updates. Very good performance, great price (paid $) and a great compromise between the 1 and 3TB. I purchased the bare drive and was a snap to install. The only thing I think is a negative, is the fact that the Seagate drves no longer carry the best in the industry 5-year warranty. I always use to boast about he warranty and performance and how Seagate was the best. The product is still very good, but with a one year warranty one must ask what they did to the drives other than shave service costs off of their bottom line. I am inclined to shop for other drives now as a result. Solid State rives are too small and too expensive a this point. Overall, these Serial ATA drives are a bargain now, even with the diminished warranty.

Lots of space for audio and video…

Arrived on time (blazing fast), hard drive was well packaged, easy to install, thought (and maybe it was there and I missed it) it would have been an idea to add the SADA connecting cord as a Suggested Product.

I have been using Seagate drives for about 7 years. I have had around 12 of them in varying capacities. I have never had problems or had one fail.

I purchased 4 of these to use in a RAID 10 configuration in my personal computer that I use as both a workstation and for gaming. The 3TB ST3000DM008 model in particular shows great value and speed in benchmarking. I cannot comment on final RAID 0 or 10 speeds yet since I don’t have the array set up yet but all drives arrived quickly and work properly. B&H has always been great to purchase from as well. I have always used Seagate in the past for storage drives and have never had an issue with them. Would buy again.

I installed this in a new computer I built with a Intel i7 2600 processor and 16 GB Corsair Vengance memory with a XFX HD 5770 video card and it makes for a very fast computer for editing very large video files and Raw images. This hard drive is fast and very quiet. Great drive!

I was thrilled about its price as I use it in raid connection for video editing and sometimes connect to an external dock. However I didn’t quite understand why after exfat formating it showed only 2.2 gigs

Use this in a dual drive raid system. Cheap enough to purchase and fast enough to load and unload data from. I feel like this is a great all around deal drive. I own multiple sets of these and just run two of them in raid as a backup system for all my files. I have been buying these drives for about 4 years now and i still haven’t had the first set fail me. They do run a little hot if that matters to anyone but since I have only used them for 5-8 hours at a time I don’t know if that ever causes any issues. I use a simple Water Fowl Branded cases to store these in, pick out the foam, fit it in and if you ever need to run you got your data go-bag already packed up.

Was browsing around and i found B&H. The price for this hard drive was well below any other quote I found. The product arrived on time, well-packaged. So far it is working great and my computer is performing awesome! Will continue future service.

I bought this Hard drive because my Lacie 3TB Thunderbolt hard drive that I bought in April started making weird noises and my computer wasn’t reading it. I lost my entire information and a lot of video projects. I talked with a costumer assistant and she told me that I won’t loose the warranty if I open it up to recover the information. When I opened it, Surprise! I realize that Lacie use the same 3TB internal hard drive from barracuda inside this expensive machine. Im so glad I bought this hard drive!

I have about 20 of these 3TB drives and about 10 of the 4TB drives. These 3TB drives are nice and fast and very affordable. I have 6 of them in RAID 5 with a read write speed over 750 MBps. I expect and plan for these drives to fail. It’s more affordable to buy them and expect them to fail than invest in pricey HGST drives. I always have data spanned across three different storage platforms to ensure backup in case of drive or RAID array failure. These drives make backup solutions pretty affordable. SEAGATE support kinda sucks. Very short warranties so don’t expect replacements after one year. If they do send a drive, it’s refurbished – that kinda really sucks.

I bought this drive for storage and also to install a second operating system on. Drive is very quiet and easy to install. Use it every day. No problems.
