Good for the price, its not 3.5 its like 3.2 or 3

I’m happy with that, it works well, silent and fast in my Synology. I want to buy one more, but there are no chance to get that in stock.

Surprisingly thin which is nice for heat flow through stacks of hard drives. Working well so far, passed all tests I ran it through. Same mounting screw positions so fits in normal 3.5 SATA drive slots and brackets.

Just installed. It was easy and free from issues. Hope the drive proves reliable over time.

On an updated Windows 10 machine, this drive was difficult to install. Not even Seagate utilities could find or install it. I finally used some software from another manufacturer to set it up and then I was able to use Seagate utilities to partition. Works well now.

This is the drive I use to store data on my desktop computer; just upgraded from a 2TB drive. Needs to be formatted and partitioned after the physical install, but super simple using Windows Disk Management SW. This monster storage combined with the SSD I use for my operating system makes my 8 year old desktop purr like a contented tiger.

I got 4 of these 6 months ago to put into a RAID drive. Note that Seagate says that these are CMR (shingled) drives, so they are slow for reads (but not for writes). They have worked well, but today (May, 2021) I just got the message that one has failed the SMART test and is predicted to fail. It seems a short lifespan for a modern disk – but it is only predicted to fail, it hasn’t done so, and it could just be bad luck on my part.

Good price for an overall solid HDD that we use for archival.

Solid HD and fast.
