Noisy enough where you wouldn’t want your NAS in the bedroom. No other issues after three weeks.

Currently sitting in a small enclosure on my desk at arm’s length. When I search through file folders, I can hear its little clicks and clacks, but it’s minimal. I’ve only had it for a month or so, but so far, it’s been fast & dependable. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one.

I purchase 8 of these drives (2 , 4 packs) to populate a Synology DS1817 8-Bay NAS Enclosure and it is working great.

I bought a Twin Pack of these drives in December, 2018, and after spending a full week transferring files onto them, one of the two crashed irreparably. B&H wouldnt refund. Seagate would only replace. Damage was already done. Client walked. Thanks a lot!

I purchased these for my NAS… although they are only 4 TB each. I built my Synology With 5 drives. Giving me about 15 TB with a SynoyHybrid Raid… so far they have been dependable drives as I had two prior to my build. These are CMR drives vs SMR drives which some of the WD Western Digital NAS have been, which has been controversial and an issue. Although there are faster drives out there, these suit my needs and my pocketbook…

Purchased this drive with the Synology NAS to run Active Backup for Office 365. The drive functions fine and is quiet, even when during heavy access. Plan to purchase a second drive to setup RAID 1 soon.

Used to swap and older 5TB that was throwing SMART errors in a 5 day NAS. Easy swap, RAID5 array rebuilt in less than 8 hours. Might end up ordering 4 more and replacing all drives in the NAS.

Drives arrived in timely fashion and work as expected

I needed to increase the capacity of my Drobo 5D3 RAID storage system and this was the perfect drive for the job. It replaced a 3TB drive that was showing intermittent S.M.A.R.T. warnings and, because I already had several other 8 TB drives in the array, I got 5 TB more capacity.

Great price and fast shipping from B&H. Purchased another drive to increase the capacity of my Synology NAS to match the other Seagate 10TB IronWolf drives that are already installed. High speed and reliable. Great drive for a great price.

I have no complaints
Riley Hudson (verified owner) –
Bought 4 of these (4 separate orders in hopes of better shipping protection) to build into Synology 4-channel NAS raid configuration. All arrived in good working order. Initialized and passed all tests. Running for past several weeks with temperatures under 35 deg C. This drive model is rated for up to 70C case temperature operation (though not recommended above 60C) so should provide excellent life.
Haylee Schmidt (verified owner) –
So far it performs very well, the oldest drives are 2 years old and never had an issue.
Corine Hills (verified owner) –
Product is good, fast and no issues.

Excellent service. I must commend them for putting their faith ahead of their business. A principled company.

I got 4 of these for my personal Synology NAS that I use for my tons of video and photo data. I have been long customer of Seagate and in over 20 years never had a single issue with one of their drives. this is another in that long tradition and I hope ti will last as long and perform as well. Best, David

Ironwolf drives work the best in my Synology NAS!
Murl Torp (verified owner) –
I does what it’s supposed to do.
Napoleon Ledner (verified owner) –
Works great in my synology ds1515+. Took a while to rebuild my array but this was expected. So far so good

I wanted the 10TB drives for my NAS unit, but the arrival date continued to be pushed back. So when I purchased the NAS unit, I bought the 12TB instead for a little more money but more storage. I have not had any issues and the unit performs to my expectation. I will be purchasing more soon.
