I switch to these due for WD Red no longer having CMR

Glad I went with the Seagate IronWolf 6TB Nas drive. So far they work great in my Synology DiskStation DS918+. The drives are highly compatible with Synology’s DSM operating system and provide the best value/gig I could find right now. Also, glad I went with the 6TB drive as the usable space is only about 5.5TB. I would have been disappointed if I went with 4TB drives and only got 3.5TB usable. Running (4) of these in RAID 5 gives me 16.4TB usable on my NAS which is a perfect starting point to consolidate all my data/media.

I used this drive to replace to old drives in an old Drobe 4bay. It mounted and was recognized by the Dashboard software. Took about 18hrs before Drobe would let me start putting data on it but the wait was worth it. Looks like i will be ordering another one soon.

nice drive, plugged it into the drobo and was online and ready in seconds.

I know these things are never as advertised but the drive I got is only 9TB. Funny how it is never off in the customer’s favor. Nevertheless, it seems like it works well.

I now own 3 of these, along with smaller TB versions, and they run great in my Drobo 5D3. No issues whatsoever.

While I hate giving a 5 star review to meeting my expectations, this drive meets my needs. 4 drives in my Asustor NAS, AS6606T, for 2 weeks in system: . Stay cool . Help create a fast system. (I do have a SSD disk cache as part of the system) . Are part of a VERY quiet setup. As long as the drives keep these features I’ll be a happy camper.

I was a bit worried the higher rpm would be noisy but it isn’t. B&H is always great and was with the delivery on this as well. The drives are great and I hope to get many years of service from them. I’ve traditionally had good luck with these drives, but the 10 TB is larger than I’ve had in the past so we will see. Overall very happy and have good luck so far with them.

I purchased the 6GB Seagate as a nightly backup drive and so far so good. It initialized easily enough. It’s mounted in an external USB case and only in the quietest of moments at my desk do I hear it spin up. I’m normally a WD guy, but at this price point I thought I’d give Seagate a try again.

I’ve used Seagate products for years (decades, actually) and the 8TB IronWolf 7200 was an easy choice to make for the mirrored pair on my new NAS. When one failed after only 258 hours, Seagate made it quick and easy to replace and was very prompt shipping a replacement drive.

Pair up with my Synology Nas 1821 work smooth and very great for large data transfer with 10gb network.

No problems yet installed it to a QNAP NAS and it was pretty much plug and play after I figured out how to properly set up the drive.will buy another one soon.

I use this as a cloned backup drive and hopefully it will last for some time.

Good NAS drive. Arrived super fast and well packaged. Top level service as usual.
Nora Daniel (verified owner) –
I have 4 of these now running 24/7 in my QNAP nas. They are quiet and cool and the Seagate tools are a plus being controlled by the nas. I have never had a problem with Seagate drives and use them exclusively in all my machines.
Norberto Marvin (verified owner) –
I ordered 4 of these drives to populate my NAS. Three were dead on arrival, the fourth seems to be okay but I can’t really test it as part of RAID setup all by itself
Veronica Walsh (verified owner) –
excellent hard drive and very quiet. Popped it straight into my NAS after opening and it worked with no issues.
Sofia Simonis (verified owner) –
So far so good. The Pro version is 7200 RPM has a 5 yrs warranty also about 50% more. My application was not critical, so decided on lower cost option. Always had good luck with Seagate. B&H fast service as usual.

I previously bought Western Digital drives for a brand new NAS. One failed within the first couple of months, and WD took more than 6 months to replace the defective drive, and then only after multiple battles with their CS. I bought the Seagates while that was still open. They installed easily and have worked without an issue. Nothing flashy, nothing special, just plug and play. So, if you’re considering various brands, buy the Seagate. The prices are almost identical, and the small premium is worth it.
