It is great!

I bought a pair. No problem replacing an existing failed drive with this new drive. Works great!
Javon Kohler (verified owner) –
Perfectly good spin drives. Work fine. I’ve had about 12 in a server for the last three years and not one has failed yet… (Knock on wood). For the price and the size, I think this is the best spin drive on the market.

It was easy to install, but it is a little noisier than I expected.
Geraldine Schulist (verified owner) –
lots of memory

Only time really tells about reliability. It’s got 5.23TB of space (drives always seem to have a fair bit less than the listed size?) But it seemed to work seamlessly with my synology NAS.

These all checked out when I ran drive certifications prior to loading into my raid server. They’re speedy. They are notably louder than any other drives I have. I moved my array to a spot under my desk so that it’s not as noticeable but maybe that’s the trade off for having so many discs spinning inside.

Excellent hard drive this far! Added to my Synology NAS and so far no issues! Synology recognized the drive as a Seagate ItonWolf drive and surprised me when it actually showed a wolf logo next to the drive. The 12TB storage is excellent as well! Actual storage, especially with 1 drive failure redundancy in my NAS was less than 12TB but nothing too dramatic. Overall, I’m happy!

These drives work great, speeds are as advertised. Ironwolf utility is very nice to have. Be aware, quite noisey. Wouldn’t recommend in a bedroom if you don’t have any other white noise.
Gussie Wunsch (verified owner) –
Slower than a 7200 rpm drive, but cheaper too. No complaints after a few weeks of use.

I installed this in my Unifi Dream Machine Pro to record video from surveillance cameras and I does the job, I have always had good luck with Segate enterprise disks.
Murray Huels (verified owner) –
I purchased this to use with my Synology DS1520+, and it works great. Not too noisy, but you will hear the workings of the drive a bit if you have it out in the open. In a cabinet, you probably won’t hear anything at all. Seems to be pretty fast for a non-SSD.

Iron Wolfs are the way to go for reliability and best bang for the buck.
Jeanette Wolff (verified owner) –
I have this drive as part of an array in my QNAP server. It works great. So far so good. Would recommend to anyone looking to build a RAID system. But warning, get more space than you think you need. I am running out of room on my server and wish I had opted for a larger set of drives.

Good price. Easy to install into my new NAS. Very quiet when reading and writing data. Don’t even hear any little chirps during the read/write process.
Tara Johnson (verified owner) –
In a NAS, RAID 5, they plugged in and just worked.
Gunnar Zieme (verified owner) –
High performance. Too soon to say anything about reliability.
