over the past few weeks i’ve installed five of these into an 8-bay NAS box (Synology DS1815+) as upgrades to 6TB drives from the previous generation (ST6000VN0011s); so far no bad sectors have been reported and the drives are running flawlessly… plus i’m seeing an average drop in temperature of 11C in each bay (e.g., 36C vs. 47C). and with a 10 yr. warranty, i couldn’t be happier. planning to replace the remaining 3 drives in the near future.

These drives seem solid for a NAS (or other use). Both drives had no error sectors and have been working great for a few weeks. My NAS uses up too much memory from the drives for system purposes but that’s not Seagate’s fault. Buy bigger drives than you need if you intend to use them with a NAS!

Bought these drives for my QNAP NAS for video editing. Theses drives have high reliability and great warrant which is why I purchased them.
Isobel Durgan (verified owner) –
These are quiet and quick. Using them in my video file server.
Mathew Koch (verified owner) –
Not much to say except that the product works great and worked exactly as expected. No issues at all!
Kavon Langosh (verified owner) –
I am using these Iron Wolf Pro HDDs in a Qnap NAS. No problems. No worries. Just great speed and reliability. Highly recommended.

I bought the first one about six months ago and just bought a second one. One is running under Windows 7 and the other under MacOS. They feel and sound solid, although I suppose the real test won’t be concluded until I know the date of failure. It should be 3-5 years of 24/7 and I hope to update this review at that time.

I’ve bought two of these from B&H for use in backing up my NAS, I’ve not had them long but so far they’re perfect. And of course B&H are great in how quickly they process orders and the prices are cheaper even with international postage and fees than buying them here in Australia.

zero issues.

Bought two pack for file server. They are quick, quiet and large.
Antonina Koss (verified owner) –
Purchased 8 of these and one of them was DOA out of the box. It would not even spin up in a NAS. Seagate did offer to replace the drive but I had to pay to ship a brand new drive to them if I wanted it replaced under warranty. At least B&H paid for the return shipping. I can only hope they work for a few years like they advertise.

I have 5 of these in an RAID array. 3 have failed and replaced by Seagate. So these have not performed like other Seagates I’ve had.
Onie D’Amore (verified owner) –
Fast and reliable! Will buy more as I need to expand my backup system.
Newton Treutel (verified owner) –
I purchased 2 drives and put them in my NAS and up and going.
Alexzander Kilback (verified owner) –
Quite, fast, & reliable.

The first HDD I received was DOA – would not power on or spin up. Seagate support was completely useless and barely understood the product line. After a series of ridiculous troubleshooting steps (please reformat the drive that doesn’t turn on), they eventually offered to send a similar replacement which, when asked, was given the part number of a 3TB consumer desktop HDD. I ended the 45 minute call with Seagate without resolution, and called B&H support. Within 5 minutes an RMA was issued and a replacement was shipped priority. The replacement is working well so far. B&H provided excellent service. Seagate unfortunately did not.

Works as expected which makes life easier. Yes it is a bit pricy but worth it. Thank you for the Super fast shipping & corrected errors.
Itzel Miller (verified owner) –
Ive had this drive for just over a year now and have no issues with it. Fast and easy to install and not a huge amount of space wasted by the formatting for the drive either.
Marjory Kiehn (verified owner) –
At least 50% faster copying 16TB IronWolf to 16TB IronWolf then my Seagate Baracuta8 TB that it replaces. Great price!

These 6TB drives are operating great in my new QNAP TS-253D NAS. This is my second set of NAS Quality SeaGate IronWolf Pro drives for a NAS. Other 4TB drives are still operating without issues in a Synology NAS. B&H makes it so easy to source NAS & Network equipment. Great prices, available tech and fast fast deliveries. Always remember to check out B&H before you buy.
