Its a disk drive. At this price for a ‘premium’ drive I expect good performance. Time will tell.

I purchased four of these drives for my Synology NAS. I loaded all four drives up after mounting my NAS and all of them were DOA. I tried connecting them via SATA directly to my computer no luck. I did RMA them, which cost me a bit more money, but they still end up being cheaper than other NAS-level drives.

Excellent drive at an excellent price.

I don’t have an ultra-quiet setup, but have not heard a peep from these drives (ordered 2). I was disappointed to see they have 2TB less than advertised available to use, so expect to only have 14.5TB available to start with. I feel like they should advertise the capacity based on what’s available to the end user to use. It’s definitely misleading. I did hear a few clicks when first fired up, but quiet since. It seems under certain rare conditions, these will make noise when they want to, but have not had an issue with noise otherwise; I only hear my fans. I use them in a RAID 0 config as Plex movie storage. B&H shipped quickly and the drives were packaged well. I will definitely order from B&H again.

Have had these about a month in an 8 bay RAID. We’ll see how they hold up but so far quiet and smokin’ fast compared with other 7200rpm drives I’ve used in the same housing. Costly, but worth it if they last.

Drives have worked as advertised in a home NAS (approx. a year so far). No issues with noise.

Purchased 4 of these to use with a Drobo 5D3. Its been 45 days and no issues. Works as advertised and highly recommend.

amazing capacity and quality

I bought 3 of those disks to extend the capacity of my Synology NAS. They are perfect pair for it, Synology works perfectly with them, including extended diagnostics. Pretty fast, reliable (I already had 3 of them running for more than 1 year on the same NAS), and would just change them for higher capacity ones of the same series.

Replaced 7 older drives by 2 new 14TB drives. Very happy with the results
Elian Douglas (verified owner) –
Used since 2019 till 2021. Sadly died in 2021 with all data on it (used as backup)
Dahlia Bauch (verified owner) –
Works like charm for many years.

Installed 2 of the Ironwolf Pro 10TB drives in a NAS configured as RAID 1. Work out of the box. Only negative so far, and not much of one, is that they are noisy if you have the NAS next to your desk.

I had purchased several drives over a year ago and just added 2 more drives to the RAID. All drives so far have been flawless with 24/7 operation since being installed.
