We use these 4TB HDD to store, back-up and archive video projects, usually using three per project. We’ve never had a problem with Seagate drives

I got this to replace a 3TB drive that died in my Drobo. Plugged it in but didn’t work. Rebooted Drobo FS and it was recognized and Drobo is back to having enough storage again.

These drives provide the quality and reliability I need for my family’s NAS.

The Seagsre NAS works as advertise. I’ve taken all files from my lapiop and stored them on the NAS. I am seriously thinking about buying another one.

I got two of these hard drives to use with my Synology DS1621 and so far they have been working great. I even did a speed test individually and the speeds were very close to what is advertised. It may still vary based on the interfaces being used in your scenarios.

Still waiting an answer from B&H to know how I can get another one cause the one they sent to me doesn’t work.
Clemmie Walsh (verified owner) –
Working great and reliably so far.

These things are fast and seem to be made for my Synology. Work perfect so far.

I unplugged (hot-swap) a couple of old WD20EARX drives from my Synology DS212 and replaced them with these. The WD drives were fine, but I ran out of space. These drives are working fine but do make a strange repetitive clicking noise sometimes. This could of course be the DS212 at fault and not the drives themselves, but the WD20EARX drives never made strange noises quite as loud. The DS212 made increasing the partition size painless so this was a pain-free size upgrade for my NAS.

Got this drive for a great price, shipping was really fast, comes well packaged in a retail box. Formatted it as NTFS with Windows 10 (where it checks the whole drive) and it came out all good. Will update this review if I have any trouble with it.

Used to swap and older 5TB that was throwing SMART errors in a 5 day NAS. Easy swap, RAID5 array rebuilt in less than 8 hours. Might end up ordering 4 more and replacing all drives in the NAS.
Moses Quitzon (verified owner) –
Best price to storage ratio, best brand and more quiet than other brands. Got at special price. Very satisfied.
Carter Oberbrunner (verified owner) –
I replaced my old Constellation ES.3 drives with these and they seem to be quieter and have updated onboard diagnostic tools. Overall happy with the purchase.
Louisa Weissnat (verified owner) –
Not to mention very fast. I use a pair of these in the Synology NAS. Awesome pair to get the job done.
Reba Schuster (verified owner) –
I have a few of these on a NAS system for several years, so far no one has failed. Under this condition, I can’t say how fast they are but at 5900 rpm are probably slower than the more standard 7200 rpm ones. It looks like for this kind of HDDs Seagate favours durability over speed but I don’t believe you will feel the difference in actual operation.
