i got these on sale and they are certainly NAS rated drives and what you should purchase if intended to put into the Synology. a bit noisier than WD but nothing Velcro (see my synology review) doesnt solve.

Works great & best option for me to keep important files backed up at a good price

Replaced an equivalent pair of 2TB drives in my Synergy NAS (Raid) unit – new ones work fine. Am not sure what else you say about HDDs. Drives replaced were the Pro versions which cost more but the only significant difference is related to lifetime issues. Notwithstanding an actual failure of one, I expect they will outlive me. These drives only run occasionally and I do allow the drives to hybernate.

B&H is always 20-30$ cheaper per unit than Amazon. And their shipping is almost as fast! Great drive for synology NAS systems

A bit too early to be sure. But it has 3 good features: Low price, high capacity and quiet operation (quiet enough for my needs).
Tillman Dare (verified owner) –
Ironwolf drives work the best in my Synology NAS!
Daisy Emard (verified owner) –
I switch to these due for WD Red no longer having CMR
Mozelle Moen (verified owner) –
It fit into my Synology perfectly the first time and is quiet and fast!

The drive has been running well, but unfortunately I have a Fractal design case and the screw holes are further apart than in my previous 5tb drives, thus the screw holes on my drive bay tray are off and I can only have 2 of the 4 in there. It seems the drive is heavy enough where this wont be an issue, but its still too early to tell.

Upgrading my NAS from 8x 4TB Drives to 8x 6TB drives for more capacity. I have bought four of these drives so far and they are working exactly as they should. I’ll buy the other four next month and finish the upgrade. Very happy with them in my FreeNAS build. I am running a Raid-Z2 for redundancy and so my available space was approx 20TB before and it will be approx 32TB after. Plenty of room for our photos, videos, projects, home storage, audio, etc. For now anyway.

Pair up with my Synology Nas 1821 work smooth and very great for large data transfer with 10gb network.

I bought this drive to replace a failed drive in my Synology NAS. The purchase and delivery process was flawless. The installation and integration into my system was likewise without drama. I had previously attempted to replace the failed drive with one that was not on Synology’s approved list & it was a failure, so a word to the wise = save yourself the bother and choose from the approved list. In my case, B&H had multiple drives to choose from and Amazon did not.

I love B&H… And the service is top notch!!!
Rocio Sauer (verified owner) –
I am using these in a QNAP NAS @ RAID5. The read speed through the NAS is 1500 Mbps. They are not overly loud either. Pleased so far.
Nicola Bauch (verified owner) –
It’s a great value for the performance in NAS setups.

Happy with the product and happy with the service from B&H.
