Nas drives working good

While it was the only drive Ive ever had to crash, I attribute it to the server not to the drive . I replaced the crashed iron wolf with a new one. I believe the errors on the drives could have been corrected but the warranty was expiring.

Bought 5 of these to setup my Synology DiskStation DS1019+ 5-Bay NAS Enclosure. Set up was very easy, it took me less than 10 minutes. Synology recognized these drives just fine and I was able to create storage pool, volume very easily. Though it’s expected (as with other HDDs), there’s a slight noise when these drives spin. I have not measured the read/write performance yet. Overall, happy with this item.

Reliable but way too expensive

I run an IT service business…. something like half of my customers have Synology NAS units and they have a mix of drives… These are the most reliable drive you can get before spending serious money on datacenter drives. I highly recommend them If you need more speed the IronWolf PRO is another options.

I bought 9 of these in 2017 for my SOHO Synology NAS. My wife and I have a small consulting business. We use the NAS for backing up the computers, intranet, email, and other typical server uses including a Plex server. Of the nine drives I have had only one failure. It occurred almost 3 years in, and was covered by Seagate warranty. Because the NAS is set up with two drive failure tolerant Synology Hybrid RAID we did not lose any data. Seagate had a warranty replacement drive back to me in 4 working days. Overall I’ve been very happy with these. They work well, and they’re reliable enough for home use without the cost associated with an enterprise-class drive.

it is i like your stuff it is for me

I’ve always used Seagate drives and never had any problems. Two of these are in a network storage unit setup in RAID config. Access is screaming fast! Won’t disappoint.

The headline says it all. I will only buy Ironwolf drives and only from BH.

Excellent value

I installed these into my NAS a couple weeks back, set them up, and they’ve been working well. They’re surprisingly heavy (lots of platters, I assume), but installs like any other HDD. I’ll update this review if I have any future issues.

I use it with my DS920+ NAS, wish I have ordered 5 drives, because now without an extra drive, I don’t have a spare one to switch. Anyways, it’s important to notice that all IronWolf and IronWolf Pro drives are based on CMR technology which is good for NAS.

Added 2 of these to my Synology NAS (already have smaller Seagate NAS drives) – never had an issue and good integration with Synology (health status, etc.)

I’m not devoted to any particular brand of mechanical HDD; over many years I’ve had reliable service from a wide variety of Seagate and WD drives. The lower tier OEM drives installed in pre-built mass market computers tend to have slower read/write speeds, which can be annoying. This Seagate NAS HDD, which is definitely not lower tier, is quiet, reliable, and delivers about 220 MB/Sec.

They work until they don’t- I’d rather see reviews from folks who just lost a drive than from someone who’s been using it for a week. I have it up and running, it’s quiet, it does what it’s supposed to do. Switching brands to this one for now because I just lost a couple drives from another manufacturer.

Have been utilizing Seagate or Western Digital drives for decades so to get this drive (3) at such a great price with no shipping and no tax makes me very happy

This is the forth Seagate Ironwolf 8TB drive I bought for my NAS. It was purchased to increase available storage and it works as advertised. The purchase experience from B&H was wonderful. In some ways better than the experience I had at the other large online store. Thank you B&H, I will be back.
