I already have a 2TB Seagate drive for about 10 years now and I always thought it was pretty small, then I got this one and its about a fifth of that, about the same size as a pack of cigarettes. Set-up could not be easier, one just plugs it in and in about 10 seconds its ready to go/use! One can just drag and drop, or copy, or move files onto it and it does it without any complaining! I love this little thing/drive!

works well with my old ASUS Windows 7 computer.

I bought this HD to store all of my home videos to watch on my LG TV which was having problems seeing the USB Thumb Drives I was using. Works like a charm!
Ward Turcotte (verified owner) –
If size (capacity) matters more than speed, this is a good deal. A comparably priced thumb drive would offer almost twice the speed, but only an eighth of the storage capacity.

I needed a lot of space for raw photo files on remote photography trips and 4 terrabytes should be plenty. I’ve had good luck with Seagate and use them for my RAID system backups. This portable drive comes in a small package but isn’t as shock proof as a Lacie so I purchased a Ruggard case to hold it while traveling. I’d prefer an SSD but a comparable drive would be too expensive for my needs. So far so good.

Always good to back up your important files – important to know that your backup is reliable. It works great and is fast and reliable. Would buy again!

It’s too early. No way to tell reliability or longevity

This drive does exactly what I need it to do. It isn’t super fast, but I knew that going in. It’s a lot of storage for a low price which hit the nail on the head for what I needed.
Elliott Lynch (verified owner) –
It works well and with greater bandwidth compared to legacy drives. My only hope is it will be extended to even greater capacity!
Keely Beer (verified owner) –
The speed of this Seagate drive was fast and using it to backup all my photos and videos was very simple.

Easy to use with two laptops here. Only rated 4 due to no instructions with it and link to them didn’t work. Nice product overall.

I haven’t had problems with it, but right out of the box I noticed how thin and flexible the plastic housing is. There is another version of this at a similar price (for now) that is silver, with a more metallic housing – worth checking out.

I placed this drive on top of a stack of books about 9 inches high. I connected the cord it came with and went to plug it to my Surface Pro. Apparently, the Surface was a little too far for the cord and I ended up pulling the cord enough for the drive to come with it. What followed was a pretty hard thud, enough for me to be concerned about the drive. I cleared my desk and plugged in the drive only to find 300GB of files wiped out. Luckily, I’m using this drive as a backup, so nothing was actually lost. As I tried to eject it, a notification popped up preventing me from ejecting. This was new to me, as I am able to eject without any issues. I unplugged the drive anyway and upon re-plugging, a notification popped up saying the entire drive is corrupted and needs to be repaired, which I am in the process of doing. Great. For $100, I’d expect the quality of this hard drive to be a little better. If you are looking to buy a hard drive, please be take extra care into it when to open it out of the box.

It died on me after three months.

I’ve always relied on Seagate for portable storage. I just wished it had rubber feet to prevent sliding around my desk.

Great for backup in the field.
