I already had one of this brand 6TB, I love how it works so now I took an 18TB, and I’m satisfied!

I finally decided to consolidate my back up drives from 10 to 2—these Seagate 8 Tb drives worked right from the plug in, needed no formatting and so far so good—been using them ~ 1 week so far, so let’s see how long they last?

Not super fast but great for archiving. I have 4 of them now. I bought the first ones about 1 year ago and still working great.

Not a bad drive for the price. Mine lasted about 4 years before it crapped out. I didn’t lose anything because it held redundant files, being a backup drive and all. I bought it primarily because it was on clearance at a local store. Not recommended for constant hard use, it’s meant to dump files on it, then updated periodically with backups. But recommended for the value, a tool to keep multiple backups. You never know when a drive will fail. But I also still have have a few 10-15 year old hard drives that still work surprisingly. It’s amazing how much storage space you can get for the price these days, it’s generally a bargain, though HDD’s lack the speed of pricier SSD’s.

These two Seagate 8TB drives are the third set I have purchased to back up my photographic library. The others have been retired, since they are almost full. Over many years I have relied on Seagate drives and prefer them over all other. Very dependable. Len Holland

Nice Piece Of HardDesk Great One

The drive constantly disconnects and usually fails to reconnect. The drive’s internal USB circuit keeps crashing, pulling down the USB bus on my PC and disconnecting not only the drive but my mouse and keyboard as well. I replaced this drive with a Toshiba and my problems went away. I’ll never buy another Seagate drive … it’s not worth risking my photos and other data.

Great performing external. Good sustained performance for large file transfers. Wish that the serial number were visible on the top of the drive to make it easier to tell which drive is which while they’re plugged in.

A good choice after dealing with 5 Hard drives of 1TB and 500GB. Perfect for making backups of my whole video and audio stuff. No need to worry anymore about losing my smaller external hard drives with personal information.

I use this to simply store images in all formats, and some documents. It is stationary and not subject to periodic movement. It does the job as expected. I have other Expansion drives that all do the job and at a fraction of the cost of other units. Speed is not important for this function.

I purchased an identical 8 terabyte Seagate 3 years ago for the purpose of backup and also transporting my Adobe Lightroom Classic Library of images between two computers at different locations. It has been flawless– truly plug and play. I expect the same outstanding performance for my recent purchase when we install it on our Mac.

No Problems with it, works, 3.o data transfer speeds, sort of wish I had gotten the bus powered one for easier portablity but, thats ok this can be my stay at home drive.

Good HDD, no issues with delivery or performance so far

Working as expected. Only 4 stars because nothing is absolutely perfect.

It’s early days to make sure it lasts, but no problems so far. Quieter than I was led to expect from some other reviews, and fast. Great for storing music files which exist on portable drives as well. So, so far, so good.

Muy Bueno!

seems to be working well, although it’s hard to know since I cannot pull up a view of what is on the drive on my MacBookAiir. Also, the reportedly easy installation took me several days and the arrival of a friend to help find the right connections among the cables provided. Hopefully, other purchasers will not encounter such difficulties.

Am using the the drive for OSX TimeMachine and it works just fine. HOWEVER, it makes too much noise when spinning up and the vibrations got amplified by my desk. Was able to diminish the problem by using a longer cable and placing the drive on a softer surface (to diminish the vibrations). Someday I will find a high capacity solid state drive. Sigh….
