I am only buying Seagate now, after serious issues with WD. I dropped one star simply because larger drives today are not as dependable as smaller drives I still use after many years. I have some reporting perfect condition, which is really remarkable. In contrast, I am loosing larger drives much faster. I only use the larger disks for storage. The smaller disks, I am using in new builds, when they are retired from storage.

I am using it with a MacBook Pro. It works fine as long as it’s directly connected to the Macbook, otherwise it periodically disconnects itself. Never had that problem with a WD. I won’t be buying Seagate again.

Hello, I bought a 14TB external drive, the drive arrived on time, but encountered two issues, 1. The drive is extremely noisy, like a burst of shots every time I write about it, 2. The transfer rate really changes, and sometimes drops to 7 mb / s and does not maintain a high transfer rate And uniform, should the product be returned or can they be remotely inspected and repaired? I would love for you to get back to me, thank you

I currently own 5x 8TB Expansion drive already. This is a review for my purchase order of 10x 8TB Seagate Expansion drives. Not only am I satisfied with my product, purchase experience, and service but I’m glad B&H provides extreemly low pricing no one can beat! I’m a Customer for life! Thank you B&H team! This product arrived extremely quickly, in a well protected packaging. Overall Seagate is a great product, data read and write speed is fast, quality material such as the hard drive housing is dourable, needs a little more air circulation.

I bought this to back up a master project drive and used the professional software, Hedge, to initiate the process. About 30% into the backup process it failed, and corrupted the drive… Immediately returned it and move to WD.
