Bought 3. Already had one fail.

I have two of these on my desk and I just plug it in and back up any files y want. I use mac with them and they work great.

Using to store media (movies, audio, etc.) So far, it’s working perfectly. Decent speed, great capacity and great price!
Cletus Olson (verified owner) –
Good harddrive so far. Haven’t had it too long, quick speed. Do hear the disk spinning so that is a little scary but normal.
Enoch Leannon (verified owner) –
Though slightly louder than previous external drives I’ve used, this one seems to work well. I now have two of them, working in tandem, and they each have enough capacity to store all my photos, documents, etc. (The reason I bought two is because I’ve had external drives fail in the past. This time, if one fails, I should still have my important files on the other one.) I can’t say whether these will be durable — only time can answer that one.

Terrible hard drive. So noisy constant clunking and banging noise the could be heard two rooms away. Very slow reads and writes maybe do to the defect causing the noise. I’m exchanging it for a second one but the second it gets noisy it’s getting returned and I’m through with Seagate products.

This is my second seagare backup hard drive and so far so good, great price for 8tb!
Casper Satterfield (verified owner) –
I am endlessly surprised at how low this harddrive is. I can hear it clunking from the other room. It sounds like someone tapping their knuckles on a desk. Of all the other Seagate products I’ve owned, this one is by far the loudest.
Jeanne Parisian (verified owner) –
It’s great having lots of storage around, especially for backing up other, smaller drives.
Frances Padberg (verified owner) –
This big external drive was a snap to setup and provides me with a ton of working storage for my photos and videos.
Colten Reynolds (verified owner) –
This is the most reliable external drive I’ve found for the price. Other drives have crashed after a few years. I have about 12 of these that have lasted over 3 years.

This 8T Expansion Drive arrived promptly from B&H. I formatted for Mac and set up as Time Machine. Since my 2010 Macbook pro is only USB 2, the Time Machine back up of over 3 TB of various drives is taking many many days and nights of continuous running. I hope this drive survives the first 2 Back ups. After that it is light duty. Better to look at reviews after a year of use not 2 weeks.

I use them for my high-density music files such as iso;dsf;dff;flac;wav…etc., and using it directly play music files daily. Their normal speed for copying are between 90 to 150 MHz….So far so good! Reliable! B & H is the most reliable seller in the World….

Been using this for a few months. Was a bargain ($200 before the pandemic surge). But, it has hung up a couple of times now requiring a power cycle to restart. Not a good sign.

These are great value – 8Tb for less than what I’ve been paying for 5Tb. Delivery was quick and I was kept notified at each stage. I’ll be buying from here again.

I knew what I wanted, but didn’t know where to get it, but felt the pricing was fair @ B&H Photo. Ordering was easy and it came earlier than expected, in good packaging and in good shape. I will use them again.

I put this drive on my Xbox One and it formatted for games right away with absolutely no issues. I then copied my games from my 3TB external Seagate drive and again it was without issue. I am now using the drive for my Xbox One external storage and it is working flawlessly. I have never had any issues with my Seagate drives. The only drive that I ever had an issue with was a WD drive. I know others have different experiences but if I were going to buy another drive I would purchase Seagate.

I’m storing photographs on mine. It has more space than I need at this time but it’s nice to know the space is there when I will need it eventually.
Ethyl Brekke (verified owner) –
This hard drive does exactly what it’s supposed to. I have no problems or complaints.

For a 50-yr old, tech-challenged chick, this external hard drive was very easy to set up. I plugged it in to my 64-bit op system and started moving large quantities of files to the new expansion hard drive. I use Win7 professional and have the older usb 2.0. Moving from computer to external did take some time (huge files). However, moving/organizing the files within the seagate itself flew.
