A good choice after dealing with 5 Hard drives of 1TB and 500GB. Perfect for making backups of my whole video and audio stuff. No need to worry anymore about losing my smaller external hard drives with personal information.

No Problems with it, works, 3.o data transfer speeds, sort of wish I had gotten the bus powered one for easier portablity but, thats ok this can be my stay at home drive.

I use this hard drive on a daily basis. I’ve been using Seagates for awhile now and they are very reliable as long as you take proper care of them, of course.

I’ve only used this hard drive for a few weeks, so I can’t judge its longevity, but it’s working well. I’ve typically only purchased Western Digital drives for video work, but I bought this one as a large solution for Time Machine backup with my iMac because it was less expensive. Even though the drive is only listed as compatible with Windows out of the box, I can attest that it works fine with Macs as long as you re-format it with Disk Utility as soon as you get it.

It should be a good hard drive for archiving files.

I use this for preserving a lot of video files from a high quality film production. This product fill up my needs and are big enough for storage.

Super fast shipping to Canada, product exactly as expected!

That was easy. I don’t like difficult websites when it comes to ordering something. Thank you for that and the quick shipping.

I knew what I wanted, but didn’t know where to get it, but felt the pricing was fair @ B&H Photo. Ordering was easy and it came earlier than expected, in good packaging and in good shape. I will use them again.

Muy Bueno!

Easy to use! Just plug into your laptop or desktop and go! Decent transfer speed. So far I’ve transferred close to 1 TB of photo files for safe keeping! It’s helped speed up my laptop too!!

seems to be working well, although it’s hard to know since I cannot pull up a view of what is on the drive on my MacBookAiir. Also, the reportedly easy installation took me several days and the arrival of a friend to help find the right connections among the cables provided. Hopefully, other purchasers will not encounter such difficulties.

Though slightly louder than previous external drives I’ve used, this one seems to work well. I now have two of them, working in tandem, and they each have enough capacity to store all my photos, documents, etc. (The reason I bought two is because I’ve had external drives fail in the past. This time, if one fails, I should still have my important files on the other one.) I can’t say whether these will be durable — only time can answer that one.

This 16TB is working as expected except that the noise is off the chart. I like quiet and don’t need the distraction.

my use: RAID-1 mirror to a pair of Seagate 4TB desktop drives (ST4000DM). Used to store and stream HD video. Withstands very heavy use. In a 48 hour acceptance test: offload the pair of 4TB drives to a Seagate ST8000AS002 drive ( which normally is mounted in a JBOD – AKA: a Microsoft storage pool). This drive, rumored to be inside the STEB8000100, has been in 7×24 use since Nov.2015 error free. The RAID-1 was built, re-synched, and the 8TB of data copied back to the RAID-1. Not a single error, not even a recoverable error, in the 48 hours of non-stop data transfer @ 75MB/sec (sustained). The STEB8000100 is intact for reasons of warranty. The cheap plastic case is a bit noisier than the Orico drive towers where the internal drive will be eventually mounted. Noise levels are important to me as the PC & 3 drive towers are in my office about 12′ from my ears.

This hard drive works great if you don’t move it. It is a bit slow to respond though. It takes a couple seconds to wake up if I stop using it for a while.

This drive is being used as a backup drive for a Mac Pro and has USB 3.0/2.0 connection only. The performance seems to be in line with a 5400 rmp drive, and very quite. Warranty only being one year is of a concern, so I wouldn’t really on this as a single backup solution, but rather as a fall-back drive.

I purchased this drive to add 4TB to my Xbox One which was FULL rather quickly. Nice design & SIMPLE plug & play with only a QUICK format of the drive once you plug it in. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I have been buying records of this brand for years, hopefully they have never been damaged, they are safe, they look good on the desktop, the best thing is that they are very reliable, I will continue to buy more of this brand

I currently own 4 Seagate drives. The smallest is 500GB purchase at least 10 years ago from B&H. I use it for all my music files that I play every day. Been a solid drive. However I was worried that it would die and I would not have back up for that one. So purchased the 4TB. I have a similar one purchase about 5 years ago. Used on my other device. I will always buy Seagate. Easy to use, plug and play. I don’t use any of the Seagate automated functions. Just do my own backups and storage. I did have a Seagate drive crash a while back. Which was used every day almost continuous playing audio files. But that is to be expected. Plus I think it got knocked over a few times. Can’t go wrong with Seagate.
