Seagate provides lots of memory space for a great price and so far works great.

Have only been using it for a month but so far, so good. It is smaller than I expected and also winds down to sleep mode once my back up is complete so I don’t have to worry about powering it off and on. Overall, it serves it purpose w/o hassle. I would buy it again.

The plastic case makes an annoying vibration sound when operating. I used a small piece of wood on top to damp the vibration.

1) no power on/off switch. 2) disk keeps spinning at most time even not in use. 3) not a quiet disk during sliming. 4) only mount vertical on desk (cannot reposition rubber feet) 5) noisy Fisk.

We have four of these used on two sites for Windows backup. They have been uniformly reliable. File transfer is quick, and the drives are quiet throughout. The cases do warm up during extended operation. The Seagates are an unobtrusive addition to the office environment, do the job, and give no cause for concern.

Drive works aok but a power switch would improve safety. Plugging in directly to power causes a spark and a power surge which could damage the drive.

The size is compact enough for my desk and it’s an easy plug and play device. The thing I didn’t think about is, it needs electrical power to work. I didn’t pay attention to that and I was thinking it was like my smaller external drive and all I had to do was plug the ubs in. But overall, I’m happy with it.

I’ve only had my drive for a few weeks however as soon as I got it I ran all of the usual tests like S.M.A.R.T. and short/long read/write tests and it passed them all. I wrote about 5TB of backups to the drive over the first couple days and had 0 issues with it at all. Drive isn’t loud and when writing to it at batches of about 250-500GB at a time it barely heated up. Assuming it lasts this will likely be the hard drive I keep buying as/if I end up needing more space!

I liked this fast, reliable, easy and simple back up system with this affordable price range.

Simple to set up and use and most importantly unlike others this EHD does what was needed in a simple to use method.

I have recently bought and used this 8TB HD for my main work back up drive. Not quite as quick as an onboard unit for large data transfer but he way I do back ups in units it is working fine and size for cost has worked out well

Not super fast but great for archiving. I have 4 of them now. I bought the first ones about 1 year ago and still working great.
