Store, access, and edit up to 10TB of data, whether at home or on-the-go, including documents, music, movies, photos, and more with the 10TB Backup Plus USB 3.0 External Hard Drive with USB Hub from Seagate. This drive connects to your system using its integrated micro-USB 3.0 (micro-B 10-pin) port and provides data transfer speeds of up to 160 MB/s, while also being backwards compatible with USB 2.0. In addition to its storage capabilities, this drive has also been equipped with dual front-mounted USB 3.0 Type-A ports, which can be used to recharge your tablet, smartphone, or camera, as well as back up files, even if your system is turned off or in standby mode.
Seagate’s Backup Plus Hub is compatible with both Windows and Mac systems. It is pre-formatted for Windows and Mac compatibility requires the downloadable NTFS driver for Mac. Once installed, this drive can be used interchangeably between Windows and Mac without needing to be reformatted. Also included is downloadable Seagate backup software, a 4′ micro-USB 3.0 to USB Type-A cable, a power adapter, and a complimentary four month membership to Adobe’s Creative Cloud Photography Plan.

This is the second of the Backup Plus Hub drives that I have purchased. the first 6GB version has worked well for years. The new 10GB one seems to be working well once I got it properly to support Mac OS’s Time Machine. Note the quick start instructions should not be followed if you want to format this drive for use with Time Machine! Seagate should mention this in their quick start guide, however the information on how to properly format your drive is on their web support site. I must admit that I have been very impressed with how Seagate packages this drive. It is virtually all recyclable paper or card board other than the plastic bag around the drive. The drive comes with a 2-month membership offer for Adobe’s Creative Cloud Photography Plan. I tried to use it and got to the add the license code at the Adobe site and the number Seagate gave me was not valid as it had already been used. I asked Seagate support about this about 1 week ago and have heard nothing from them. I hope that if you have an actual problem with the drive that they respond in the 1-day they state they will respond within.

It’s nice that it doesn’t have a separate power switch, just plug it in to turn it on. I keep past project video files on it. Good storage for a great price.

I own two of these for photo backups. They are fast and reliable. I love them. I switched to Seagate three years ago from Western Digital, after multiple WD drive failures. I have never had a seagate drive failure.

Bought it to use to perform automatic backups. I liked the two additional USB ports provided. Initially though of using it for Windows File History. When I hooked it up it defaulted to the Seagate backup. Wasn’t able to determine exactly how this worked and how it compared to File History from the Seagate user manual. I let the Seagate backup run and I’m happy with it. I don’t need to have access to every version of every file, only the most current version. The drive is a bit noisy but I’m getting used to it.

I had been using the 4TB version of this but it failed after approximately 3 years. It is warranted for only 2 years but still 3 seems a bit short based on my experience with other hard drives. Despite that experience I went ahead and bought the 6TB model to replace it. Unfortunately on day 6 of using it it back thrashing and the data was unreadable and it failed tests (using Seagate Seatools). As it was under warranty I sent it to Seagate and received a replacement drive about 2 weeks after they received the defective unit back. The offered a free data recovery service and it looks like that will be an additional week. The support service was good albeit a bit slow when you are depending on having the drive available. I went with Seagate based on their reputation of quality but now I’m not so sure. I would think long and hard about purchasing Seagate again in the future.
