Store, access, and edit up to 10TB of data, whether at home or on-the-go, including documents, music, movies, photos, and more with the 10TB Backup Plus USB 3.0 External Hard Drive with USB Hub from Seagate. This drive connects to your system using its integrated micro-USB 3.0 (micro-B 10-pin) port and provides data transfer speeds of up to 160 MB/s, while also being backwards compatible with USB 2.0. In addition to its storage capabilities, this drive has also been equipped with dual front-mounted USB 3.0 Type-A ports, which can be used to recharge your tablet, smartphone, or camera, as well as back up files, even if your system is turned off or in standby mode.
Seagate’s Backup Plus Hub is compatible with both Windows and Mac systems. It is pre-formatted for Windows and Mac compatibility requires the downloadable NTFS driver for Mac. Once installed, this drive can be used interchangeably between Windows and Mac without needing to be reformatted. Also included is downloadable Seagate backup software, a 4′ micro-USB 3.0 to USB Type-A cable, a power adapter, and a complimentary four month membership to Adobe’s Creative Cloud Photography Plan.

This drive has a lot of space for my backups. It took a long time to backup 4TB of data from my computer. Im replacing two 4TB drives with this one and one new internal 8TB drive. This should do the trick as Seagate are probably the most reliable drives out there

My reason for using this product is for storing images. A photo-enthusiast would describe me. I am quite pleased with this external Hard Drive. It is no larger than the Seagate 5 TB Backup Drive which I’ve had for at least 5 years. I had recently filled up the 5 TB drive with multiple images (92,000) so I was quite happy to see the 10 TB product. At the moment that I write this, the drive is loading in pictures from my 5 TB drive using Lightroom. I was well satisfied with the 5 TB product and thus far the new product is working flawlessly. It appears durable and the USB ports looks like a good idea although I have yet to use those. I am glad that I purchased it and would recommend it to a friend.

I’ve been using it a few weeks now, mainly to back up photo files, which are pretty big. I’m using this drive to back up another Seagate hard drive, which I’ve been using for two years or so without any problems, which is why I decided to buy another Seagate drive. Another popular brand of hard drive that I used to employ for back ups failed after a year or two of use, so I switched to Seagate. It seems that all hard drives fail sooner or later; it’s just that Seagate seems to last longer. I’ve not had one crash yet. Nevertheless, I always feel more secure if I have two backups of my photos and other data. Thus, I don’t hesitate to recommend Seagate drives.

I heeded the advice about limiting the capacity to 6TB in order to avoid the ‘noise’ issue and I have no remorse-it’s very quiet and I’m satisfied with its performance. The integrated 2-port USB hub on this model is a convenient bonus especially for connecting my memory card reader and iPhone.

The drive seems to work well (I have two Seagate 4TB USB pocket drives that have worked well so far for a couple of years) but I was surprised that there is no On-Off switch on this 8TB units. So I often hear the disk spinning even when it hasn’t been in use for quite a while. Maybe it’s not a big deal, but I mention it just as an FYI.
