Well I have two MAC computers. A laptop which is High Sierra and a desktop which is El Capitan. On the El Capitan the disk first wouldn’t mount, but the software automatically loaded (even though it was for a PC) So I plugged it into my laptop where is showed up, but ope having errors reformatting in MAC Os, even though it was suppose to be MAC ready. I was on the phone with Apple Care for over an hour and then they said to try calling Seagate. I called the next day and something must have gone right through the night and after restarting the computer over and over because it finally showed up when I called Seagate, like when you feel fine after you are at the doctors. Seagate was no help at all and said it was MAC’s fault even though my system were suppose to be compatible. I just pray it lasts.

I love my new Seagate 4 TB external hard drive with USB Hub. I opened the box, found all the parts carefully wrapped, unwrapped them, plugged the cable into my computer & the external drive, and started downloading movies to the external drive. It worked flawlessly and the movies downloaded quickly. I have several other Seagate external drives about 5 years old, and they are also working flawlessly today.

I have about a dozen different size Seagate Backup Plus from 4TB to this 10TB. It works flawlessly and is great for storage of the large point clouds I generate.

I’ve only had it running for about 2 weeks but I’ve been backing everything up. Works as a drive should.

This is my 4th Seagate Backup Drive and all have performed perfectly. Speedy and have never broken down. Highly recommend them.

Set up for non-eventful. I transferred two folders. During the third folder transfer, the unit quit working. When I clicked on the icon for the device, my iMac froze, a rare happening. After re-booting, the drive was not recognized by the computer. After struggling with the mess, I contacted Seagate Customer Service via phone. After a long time, Seagate concluded the drive was defective. Then they informed me shipping for the replacement drive would be $11.95. After my protest, they agreed to waive the charge but will not issue me a free return label until I notify them that the replacement unit has arrived. Shipment of the replacement is 3-5 days. All-in-all, it is very disappointing. Until now, I had a high opinion of Seagate.

It’s seems to be fast enough for an external HD. Most aren’t lightening fast and this is no exception. But it works well for the video file archiving I need it for. I don’t need or use the USB feature.

I bought two of these external hard drives to store my pictures on to replace two 5 TB Seagate drives. I have never had a Seagate hard drive fail and these seem like they will be more of the same. The USB 3.0 hubs are also an advantage. The new Seagate Toolkit is much better than the Seagate Dashboard that came with my older drives and it also works on my 5 TB drives. Seagate is an excellent option for storage.

Drive was easily set up and easy to use. The two USB ports in the front are actually a lot more handy then I originally thought they would be. Drive is super quite and cannot hear it over the CLX next to it.

This drive has a lot of space for my backups. It took a long time to backup 4TB of data from my computer. Im replacing two 4TB drives with this one and one new internal 8TB drive. This should do the trick as Seagate are probably the most reliable drives out there

Bought this because of it’s capacity and as a desktop backup of a large number of portable drives. Plug and play, works great with the Mac with no issues.

I have a WD My Cloud Server (12TB) that has two USB expansion Ports on the back, I has used up both and was wondering how to easily increase the capacity and be able to continue doing so without having to configure more cloud servers. The 2 USB ports on the front of the Seagate drive mean that I can Daisy Chain Disks. So I can expand my storage cloud easily. I can buy a cheaper non Hub Drive for one of the Ports and another Seagate/Hub Drive for the other for practically limitless expansion.

This is my third Seagate drive….the previous two are now full. They all work fine.
