Store, access, and edit up to 14TB of data, whether at home or on-the-go, including documents, music, movies, photos, and more with the 14TB Backup Plus USB 3.0 External Hard Drive with USB Hub from Seagate. This drive connects to your system using its integrated micro-USB 3.0 (micro-B 10-pin) port and provides data transfer speeds of up to 160 MB/s, while also being backwards compatible with USB 2.0. In addition to its storage capabilities, this drive has also been equipped with dual front-mounted USB 3.0 Type-A ports, which can be used to recharge your tablet, smartphone, or camera, as well as back up files, even if your system is turned off or in standby mode.
Seagate’s Backup Plus Hub is compatible with both Windows and Mac systems. It is pre-formatted for Windows and Mac compatibility requires the downloadable NTFS driver for Mac. Once installed, this drive can be used interchangeably between Windows and Mac without needing to be reformatted. Also included is downloadable Seagate backup software, a 4′ micro-USB 3.0 to USB Type-A cable, a power adapter, and a complimentary four month membership to Adobe’s Creative Cloud Photography Plan.

I haven’t had reason to use the plus hub yet. I hate Seagate’s proprietary-to-USB cable; proprietary-connector is easily knocked loose. USB type A, B, and C… not easily knocked loose. I might order another, anyway.

I bought a back up for this backup. It makes an incredible amount of noise, but I guess this is to be expected with an actual moving hard drop. (remember it’s not an SSD). I haven’t had any problems with it, but it’s just noisy.

We now have two of these Backup Plus hubs in our home environment as backups to our two main workstations. Backups are VERY fast, simple to set up and manage, and after a few weeks, I can say very reliable. File or data recovery is simple drag and drop. The USB 3.0 ports on the front also simplify connections and provide those extra ports so we don’t need to sneak around behind the hardware. I like it! Good work, Seagate!

This drive seems to be fast and works as a drive should. Two things bother me about this drive: I own 2 other Seagate 4-TB drives, and they get done copying my files and stop making sounds. This 6TB drive keeps on clicking for many minutes after it shows 100% copy of files or folders. Does this mean that it is not really done copying? And, second, I am still running Win 7 Pro, and every once in a while the shortcut icon to this drive shows up with a question mark over it on booting up which stays there until the next boot, although it seems to work OK as a drive even with the question mark.

We got this in the “Deal Zone” for a great price. Ran out of room on a couple of 1tb secondary drives so we got this. Transfer of each 1tb drive was relatively quick. We have it connected to our RAID drive for “easier” access. Works well so far.

I do volumes of Adobe creative suite files. I often need to reference templates and files that are years old, and from different locations. I thought apple cloud was the holy grail. I was wrong. I won’t even start with the cloud issues. I will say having 4TB sitting on my desktop is stress free. The Mirror function of this drive is very nice. The two usb outs are awesome. I also have the small 4TB Seagate doing Timemachine. These drives are small enough to travel, large enough to hold years of work. So far, no broken links in my video or design files. That was my main cloud issue. I will not be going back to cloud. cons: This drive is not lightening fast. When you search for something, it doesn’t give you that snappy flash drive search that you’ve come to love. Just be patient, it will get it.

Ordered the hard drive. They said they’d be open that day. Took money, processed order. Closed again. Order wasn’t shipped. 2 and a half weeks from time order was placed to when I received it. That’s absolutely too long and ridiculous.

Dec. order , Seagate 10TB with Hub received with mechanical defect. 2 USB socket in Hub are mounted to high (of center) . And is not possible to plug in any cable or any USB device to outlet for backup or any other use…. My previous order in Nov. Seagate 6TB with Hub is OK…
