Transfer rates appear to slow when you put mode data on it. Tax (GST) for Malaysia was originally calculated on an incorrect deivery charge. Fortunately this was fixed before delivery. Much appreciated – FedEx.

Bought a WD G Drive sipped to me i one day. Loaded it with content and overnight it lost the content and file system. Bought this Seagate 10tb drive and we have had several power failures and this thing is still rockin! Files are safe and backed up. Never will I buy a Western Digital Product like the G Drive again.

It is used to back up my RAW TIFF & jpg images. I like the built in 2 USB option

We use a lot of these drives, mostly for backup and editing HD video. USB is too slow when editing 4K, but until the price comes down on Thunderbolt 3 drives, these remain an attractive alternative.

The speed of data transfer is fast and stable with quiet sound only

Nice HDD, fast, but very noisy. I have a 3TB Seagate and they do not compare in terms of noise.

If you are considering this you might want to consider going SSD.

Works very well. Quick and hopefully will last for a very long time.

Product is quick and functional. My bride and I each own one. I’d buy a third if needed. Happy customer here!

I have been running one of these on a Mac for about a year – flawless. The MyBook was in service the same length of time and has started to fail. The Seagate manual says to download an app so that you don’t have to reformat for Mac. I prefer to reformat and not use an intermediate app. Easy to do in DiskUtility. New unit up and running in just a few minutes.

Works great! But I had to reformat for a MAC

Been a huge fan of Seagate for many years. I was buying Lacie until Seagate bought them out. As a film editor and music creator I have a whole house full of hard drives, been that way for a long time and I’ve always relied on Seagate to keep me backed up and ready to go. I purchased my first 8TB from Costco in an attempt to move a lot of files to this one place like a server, who would think I’d fill it up so soon, but here I am almost out of space, so since I’ve had such great luck with this drive, I did not hesitate to purchase another one. I really like the extra usb ports on the front! When you have as many drives as I do, having that USB port there is a time saver when I’m needing to get some files moved over quickly. Great drives! I don’t see myself purchasing another brand! I’d take a picture, but I have too many to even try and get into one picture!

I was really excited to receive this large hard drive to back up my video files. The only down side I can say is the installation. It wanted to use the Seagate software that was on the drive. At first it didn’t really work properly, but finally got it working with some experimentation. Now it works great.

Seagate has a well deserved reputation when it comes to hard drives, and this unit falls right in line. I have three of these to back up an extensive set of photos and movies. Great product.

I have an Apple computer and had problems with Western Digital’s drive. I got a Seagate and it works great. Mark

While I usually have good luck with Seagate products, this one is a disappointment. The unit was slow. One bulk transfers I could hear constant hard drive noise and the transfer rate rarely went over 70 Mb/s. Other USB 3 drives handle bulk transfers at speeds over 170 Mb/s. This one was returned as defective and I went with a competing brand (with much better speeds).

used this to backup my macbook before upgrading from sierra to mojave. worked great after i reformatted for mac, but first backup took ~19 hours for 400gb of data using the usb to my convertor to my usb-c port. the dongle’s probably the limiting bitrate factor. no complaints about the drive!

Accurate for large backups. Very quiet. Handy usb 2.0 hub. Needs activity light.

IBesides providing a place to back up all my stuff, I really like the two USB ports it provides. And, it works well. Moreover, this brand doesn’t seem to fail – at least not as quickly as other brands I’ve used over the years.

Drive was easily set up and easy to use. The two USB ports in the front are actually a lot more handy then I originally thought they would be. Drive is super quite and cannot hear it over the CLX next to it.
