Store, access, and edit up to 6TB of data, whether at home or on-the-go, including documents, music, movies, photos, and more with the 6TB Backup Plus USB 3.0 External Hard Drive with USB Hub from Seagate. This drive connects to your system using its integrated micro-USB 3.0 (micro-B 10-pin) port and provides data transfer speeds of up to 160 MB/s, while also being backwards compatible with USB 2.0. In addition to its storage capabilities, this drive has also been equipped with dual front-mounted USB 3.0 Type-A ports, which can be used to recharge your tablet, smartphone, or camera, as well as back up files, even if your system is turned off or in standby mode.
Seagate’s Backup Plus Hub is compatible with both Windows and Mac systems. It is pre-formatted for Windows and Mac compatibility requires the downloadable NTFS driver for Mac. Once installed, this drive can be used interchangeably between Windows and Mac without needing to be reformatted. Also included is downloadable Seagate backup software, a 4′ micro-USB 3.0 to USB Type-A cable, a power adapter, and a complimentary four month membership to Adobe’s Creative Cloud Photography Plan.

I own two of these for photo backups. They are fast and reliable. I love them. I switched to Seagate three years ago from Western Digital, after multiple WD drive failures. I have never had a seagate drive failure.

I got this to replace my Western Digital (which failed-no surprise). I did have to reformat for Mac in order for it to be used as a Time Machine backup. I thought I read that it work right out of the box – not. Seems to be holding up fine but Ive only had it connected for 1 week. I have a MacPro running 10.12.6

I bought a back up for this backup. It makes an incredible amount of noise, but I guess this is to be expected with an actual moving hard drop. (remember it’s not an SSD). I haven’t had any problems with it, but it’s just noisy.

I haven’t had reason to use the plus hub yet. I hate Seagate’s proprietary-to-USB cable; proprietary-connector is easily knocked loose. USB type A, B, and C… not easily knocked loose. I might order another, anyway.

My reason for using this product is for storing images. A photo-enthusiast would describe me. I am quite pleased with this external Hard Drive. It is no larger than the Seagate 5 TB Backup Drive which I’ve had for at least 5 years. I had recently filled up the 5 TB drive with multiple images (92,000) so I was quite happy to see the 10 TB product. At the moment that I write this, the drive is loading in pictures from my 5 TB drive using Lightroom. I was well satisfied with the 5 TB product and thus far the new product is working flawlessly. It appears durable and the USB ports looks like a good idea although I have yet to use those. I am glad that I purchased it and would recommend it to a friend.

Beauty! Seagate stuff is supepr reliable, have had this thing plugged in and working hard for over a year now, it’s doing great! I love that you can use it as a usb hub and just download footage/photos straight to the harddrive without having to go through your computer.

This is my second shot at this device. I returned the first one after the drive became totally un-mountable after attempting to re-format the drive from its native NTFS to the more efficient AFS for my Mac. Using Disk Utility has never failed me in this task ever on any other drive. This one however, no success. Multiple attempts, two different units. Just to make sure I didn’t do something wrong, I verified the steps I took with Seagate’s instructions on re-formatting, and I had done exactly what the manual suggested. Save your money and frustration, unless NTFS suits your needs. I do enjoy the hub feature, but since the drive itself is useless there’s no 2-port USB hub worth that kind of money.

The shipment was on time. I record live events using multi-track recording equipment and needed to be able to free up space on my internal drive. This is an excellent product for that. Easy setup, the software loads in quickly and effortlessly. The first time it performs a system backup will take a few hours but after that, it just works its magic in the background. No slowdowns detected, much better than cloud storage.

This is my third Seagate USB 3.0 external HD with USB Hub because I have never had a problem with the first two.
