I’ve always used Seagate disks, both internal, small portable external and desktop external like this one. I was really surprised how fast write and read speeds were on this disk as compared to small external drives. When connecting other disks to it directly via the built in USB hub, the speeds were actually significantly faster than when connecting to computer port. I highly recommend this drive.

Unreliable external HD. Read / Write errors. Corrupted file system errors. JUNK HD. Avoid this model. Non returnable after 30 days. Failed on day 36. Avoid 1000%

I already have a 3 tera external hard drive which is full and My grandsons want to reformat their computers ’cause when one does it ,they all want to; So now I can copy or cut and paste everything on their computers to just one place. This external drive is super fast.

My desktop computer had almost run out of space and my Star Tech was nearly full. I had just returned from a trip with a new batch of photos. What could Ido. The Seagate was the answer and I am most pleased.

Needed more space for monthly backups and this will give me 8 times what I had for a very reasonable price. Havent looked at the included software. Order to delivery time was incredible and shipping was free.

Received from B & H in short order. Connected to my QNAP NAS and access it through my home network. This provides much needed additional storage!

I use this drive to back up all my photos, which, as time goes on and photo files get bigger and bigger with every increase in megapixel resolution, works very well. Moreover, I really like the USB hubs (there are 2), because I have the drive on my desk and the hubs are therefore easily accessible. I actually own three of these drives and I love everyone of them. The oldest is at least a couple of years old and it continues to perform flawlessly. I’ve had trouble with other brands, but Seagate’s products haven’t let me down yet.

I buy a new one every year, and archive the old one in a bank safe. Ill keep buying Seagate drives for as long as they make them. I backup three drives onto it. I have had to do one total restoration of data onto a new system, when a hard drive failed. Everything worked.

Despite several online search results hinting this drive is PS5 compatible, it is in fact not. This drive lacks support for USB SuperSpeed, which is a requirement for PS5 external USB drive compatibility. Also the hub feature of this drive is an additional factor that may impact compatibility and performance. One might expect the port on the back of the unit to be a direct interface that bypasses the hub, but that does not appear to be the case. In my tests I saw average write speeds of approximately 27MB/s for write 200MB/s for read.

Outgrew my 5TB drive, and this is the replacement. The drive is silent except for the occasional light chunk of the drive heads moving. I get about 120 MB/s read/write speeds via the USB 3 cable.

I use these for midnight backups from my Synology diskstation. They work fine and seem fast. I had one go bad, and Seagate replaced it under warranty.

Don’t worry about your data, It will be backed up just fine with this. I also love the extra two usb ports that come on the front to jumper other devices off of this. You won’t be disappointed.

I needed a new backup drive. This one has huge capacity (6Tb), switches itself on and off via my docking station, and acts as a usb hub too. Very reasonable price to boot.
