This is my third Seagate drive….the previous two are now full. They all work fine.

I bought it as by yearly backup drive for video projects. The speed is OK as backup drive (over 110 MB/s). Working well and not big noise. Highly recommend the product.

Had to return it for replacement, once I got the RMA the exchange was timely and the replacement works very well. I would do business with B&H again. I like their return policy.

So far this external hard drive is my blessing from the sky. Its capacity of 8TB for the outside dimensions is superb. Have is running for long periods of time without any slow downs. The only thing that I’m not too enthusiastic is the fact that it has preloaded programs that may be necessary but don’t used then or not fully used.

Our old backup drive was on the fritz and causing our backup server to freeze. Once I installed this one, the issue stopped. We are using it to back up several Macs in our office and it works great.

Who doesnt need more USB ports! I partitioned one TB for TimeMachine and 3 TB for storage. So far so good as it sits there quietly doing what its designed to do.

We have it connected to our RAID and it has been working seamlessly. Very large capacity. Runs silent. Runs cool. It’s a great unit for extra protection and the price is very nice.

Bought this to backup a NAS that has 6TB of data on it. Transfers (rsync) started out at 30MB/sec (not great) over USB, but by the time I got a couple of TB on this drive, transfer speeds had dropped to less than 1MB/sec. I seriously doubt it will even be possible to copy all 6TB from the server to this drive. Additionally, when totally idle, this drive continuously thrashes the head around for no apparent reason. Serves me right for buying Seagate. If you buy this drive, you have only yourself to blame.

Works perfectly as a large backup drive. having the additional USB ports is definitely a bonus. aesthetically pleasing on a desktop and handy for phone charging or quickly booting up/transferring files to a mobile or flash drive.

I don’t like its speed. Though it says USB 3.0, but when I transfer video files from another external hard drive (WD 8 TB). Speed first shows 130 MB/s then down to 100 MB/s finally after about 2 minutes it stays stable at 76 MB/s, which is only half of what they claim: 160 MB/s. Another minus, I don’t know why they can not do it? The LED light when files are transferred. They should add that LED light. It does not cost anymore than few pennies, why can’t they do it?. From my old WD 8 TB there is nothing to show that it is running to this new Seagate 8 TB. The logo does light up but merely shows that it is running. Hey Seagate, add a LED that will light up when data is running, OK?

Seagate’s 14 TB Backup (with USB 3.0 hub) is a very good buy. Thousands of photos require a large backup external drive. This 14 TB Seagate is the perfect choice. And the two USB 3.0 ports on the front are very handy.

These are well guilt drives, I have 2. I will say it’s sometimes a bit of a pain setting up, I don’t know if it’s just because I have a Mac but the software included is a little cumbersome. I just like to plug in the drive and open up the icon. The charging ports on the front or a nice option although I don’t tend to use them. And I strictly use these as a back up so I don’t work off of them too often but the performance seems fine, especially for my needs. And you cannot beat the price.

Bought it to use to perform automatic backups. I liked the two additional USB ports provided. Initially though of using it for Windows File History. When I hooked it up it defaulted to the Seagate backup. Wasn’t able to determine exactly how this worked and how it compared to File History from the Seagate user manual. I let the Seagate backup run and I’m happy with it. I don’t need to have access to every version of every file, only the most current version. The drive is a bit noisy but I’m getting used to it.

Bought this because of it’s capacity and as a desktop backup of a large number of portable drives. Plug and play, works great with the Mac with no issues.
